a walk in the park...
Quite simply, Sand Piper is a convenient and capable location with 27-holes and wee small greens. Lotsa water and traps yet still fun to play. No complaints as this Friday will mark my 4th time onsite in 5-weeks. The Price is Right at $42 for 18-holes and a cart. I like it just fine and until the snowbirds fly home, will continue to play here as well as Riverside in Ruskin. Both courses offer bang for the buck! Oh, nice l'il bar onsite with hot dogs and wraps. Penelope is the barmaid and is very pleasant. Trivia on Tuesday afternoons with Becky. Wowsa!!
Small in need of moving greens.
Small greens not sure why as it looks like the course is shrinking them. I don’t mind that if they would mow them. Fairways just OK. Bunkers mostly bad.
This could be a better course just remember this time of year you get what you pay for. Only s $40 course at best. Probably won’t come back!
This group of courses may not be the best but the price is reasonable, the greens and fairways are not bad and you can get a tee time that's not after two in the afternoon. The staff is pleasant and I travel almost an hour to play there because the courses in my area are overpriced and you cant get a decent tee time.
Review
Course has a nice layout but should put it on the scorecard, if you don't play it often you don't know where the flag is, water hazards or sand traps. Overall nice course!
On Wisconsin
Pro shop manager was awesome. Great deals on merchandise. Cart paths and sand traps need work. Otherwise course was good.
Save the Sandpiper!
Amazing open course with unbelievable potential. They are shutting it down in April to build more home :( because that’s what we need in Florida is more freaking homes!
Good round
I hear that the course is closing,to bad
Course is easy to play and a great pace of play.
Greens are way undersized…
10-20 years ago I bet this was a nice course. It’s missing a lot of trees, understandable right after a hurricane but some of them have been gone a decade and are rotting stumps. The fairways are okay at best, but the real problem is the greens which haven’t been cut to where they’re supposed to be in 10+ years. The 1/2” you miss on the mower has shrunk the greens 4-10 feet from where they should be, making them impossibly small, and not in a fun, challenging way. The bunkers are hard and half dirt, need a lot of fresh sand, some have been left to turn back to sod, but look like garbage. For $50 in peak season, it’s not pricey, but it’s tough to say it’s a good value either. There are other courses that offer better conditions and value in W. Central Florida…
