Cypress Ridge Golf Course
About
Cypress Ridge Golf Club stretches along the Central Coast, taking its name from the abundant cypress trees that are scattered throughout the course. The scenic and hilly terrain is the star of this layout, it provides challenging ups-and-downs but also stunning views. The smooth, fast greens are often elevated, as are many of the tees. The strategic placement of the bunkers was determined by the natural contours of the landscape. Though the golf course has many challenges to offer, playability is also a key feature. Golfers of all skill levels can approach Cypress Ridge Golf Club with confidence. Water does not have a prominent presence but it does come into play on the finishing par-5 hole. The golf course is a local favorite for both the enjoyable round itself and the friendly staff.

Hidden little jem
Great course in beautiful setting, this was first time playing, very challenging from back tees but playable all levels from front tees, nice elevation changes, nice dog leg holes, fast and true greens... I really had good time playing course and will reacommend to my Monterey buddies.
Great condition!!!
I have nothing bad to say about the course . The greens are very nice !! The staff is super friendly. Slow groups should let smaller groups play through.
Prices are now more reasonable under new ownership using Golfnow. Friendlier staff. New carts allowing one golfer per cart during pandemic and holes made shallower so you don't have to touch the pin. Grass is in great shape. Cart paths need a bit of repair. Sand traps are a disaster due to the rains.
Love the course
Drove from San Jose to play here, one of the only courses open due to the coronavirus. Staff was friendly, course played great and got done in about 3 and half hours! Def would recommend this course to anyone.... bunkers were the only down part, muddy or hard sand... but that’s expected with all the rain’
The best public golf course in the central coast.
A fantastic golf course with a friendly staff and a nice driving range. Bill in the pro shop was very helpful. The course is well maintained with a beautiful layout, the greens....well, the greens are weird (in a good way) but that between you and your putter. I strongly recommend this course, I’ll try to play it at least once a week.
Beautiful golf course
Excellent layout on a beautiful piece of land. Golf course is in very good shape, and the two members of the staff that we dealt with were extremely friendly and helpful. well worth playing!!
Beautiful central coast golf
Cypress Ridge offers a beautiful picturesque layout with rolling hills and plenty of challenges. The staff is always friendly and accommodating with easy booking and service. It is our first choice among golf courses on the central coast.
One of the best on the Central Coast
There are only three courses on the Central Coast that stand out. Cypress Ridge is one of them. The Peter Jacobsen design is outstanding. Only a few miles from the ocean, the course is well maintained and always in good condition. There is water on several holes and significant elevation changes. The greens are difficult to read, but fair. The practice facilities are good with a driving range, putting green and chipping area. While the pro shop is small, they serve alcohol and a selection of breakfast and lunch menu items with a half dozen tables.
Challenging Greens; Great Views!
Off the beaten path, Cypress Ridge is an undiscovered and underrated golf course located in the Central Coast of California. Almost anytime, you can walk on and play a round in 4 hours or less. Tees, greens and fairways are always well kept. Course layout presents some challenges, bunkers are deep and protect greens. Good luck if you get in one to save par. Have fun; enjoy!
Disheartening Greens
Called ahead to make sure green's/course in good nick
Alex in the pro shop was confident that while the greens had been 'punched' 2 weeks ago, they were 'putting well' .... what a load of cobblers - greens were disgracefully slow and bumpy.. very very disappointing

Cypress Ridge
Rode the Blues (6443/71.3/128) early morning with Mike, playing on a GM 2 person deal. The POP was slightly over 3.5H, playing in sunny, calm conditions in the low 60's.
Nice layout, my first time here. Reminded me of several courses I played outside Portland. Lots of elevation changes, rolling hills, tight, tree lined fairways and large, sometimes severe greens. Mostly poa annua grass throughout the course.
The tees had good coverage and were good to play from.
The rough close to the fairways was not too tall but was thick/penal. Rough farther from the fairways was 1-2' tall, forget it, lost ball.
The fairways were good to play from. Lots of undulation on the fairways here.
The sand was nicely maintained. More fine dirt than sand, but I found it to be good to play from.
The large greens were firm and quick, especially downhill. I had trouble with these greens, both in reading them and with the speed. Extremely poor putting day but still came away feeling like the greens rolled very well.
The customer service was good from all encountered. Busy driving range and they have a putting and chipping practice area. Carts are basic, no GPS. Very nice layout, fun course in very good condition. Recommended.
Fun and Fair
Tee's off at 21:50 on a Sunday, a group hadfinished a tourney in front of us so it was clear sailing all day!
Fun course, there is nothing tricky but don't take that as easy! Driving the golf ball straight is at a premium as the rough is punishing and there are homes on some of the holes. The greens were quick, the rough was tough, but the conditions were perfect.
I would highly recommend this course, as it is a track I would definelty play again!
Resort like course without resort like fees
I've played here annually for the past 20 years and always find it to be a treat. First of all, this course is located in Central Coast area which is about 30 degrees cooler than my home town 2 hours away. So, summer drive is definitely worth it.
The course is very fun. The holes are challenging with undulations and dog legs. Some short risk / reward short par 4s along with some meaty par 5s. Greens also have some nasty hidden breaks. Elevation change isn't dramatic, but enough to keep one on their toes. First timer will struggle due to not knowing when to go for it and when to lay up. But, play it couple of times and you'll get the hag of it. Also, try to play the course the way it was meant to be. Stray tee shots on some holes can be punishing. Great course to play.
Great course at a great price.
We loved the course. Very scenic and each hole sets up differently with interesting elevation changes. I probably would have given it 5-stars, except the greens were plugged...that time of year!
Golf at Cypress Ridge
Course was in good shape, except the greens were just punched and sanded so putting was not reliable. Would definitely play this course again.
A beautiful and challenging course!
The fairways and greens were well cared for. Each hole has its own challenges. The staff wasn't all that helpful, but the course made up for their inadequacies.
Cypress Ridge, for winter golf in Ca, is in great condition. The greens are fast and true.
I plan on playing Cypress Ridge once more before we leave Ca. The tee box combo selection [127 slope] is a great way to play this course for a 15/16 hdcp player. For the up hill shots, use 2 clubs down instead of 1.
