White Heron Golf Club (formerly known as Ridgewood Lakes Golf Club) has had many accolades over its history and for good reason. The Ted McAnlis layout is sculptured from lush rolling land and features immaculate playing conditions year round. Water and natural wetlands come into play on 16 of our 18 holes and the resident breeze can significantly change the course from day to day. Yet despite the natural beauty and obvious pedigree of the layout, with four sets of tees the course is still enjoyable for golfers of all levels.

Needs More Improvement

Overall, this course cannot compete with other area courses unless they improve their surroundings. Lots of weeds, dry spots around greens & tee boxes, and beat up cart paths cause the overall experience to not be worth the higher price of green fees. Even with a Hot Deal from GolfNow, I would not play this course again for the price I paid. The layout is nice and challenging, but upkeep is falling down, especially if the course was just renovated 5 years ago.

Drive a little and get a lot

This course was further out from where I was staying than a couple other courses I played. One was $15 less and other was double. For the money this course is a good value. A lot of water, but the course is fair and on most holes easy to avoid. Will play again when in the area.

The first time we played here this year The course is always in great shape and no exceptions this time. Staff has always been top notch and bringing you a cart as you park is always a big plus! Front nine was smooth sailing but as we got to 10 had a pile up of 3 groups on the tee and back nine took 2 &1/2+ hrs to play.

Value for the price

I found the cost to be high considering conditions’ Fairways were not yet grown in. Tees were spotty. Greens were grown in and smooth. Rough was ratty. Pace of play was slow. It took 4 hrs 45 minutes, and we were a twosome. The cart handled poorly, there was a grinding cracking noise in the steering column. No food available in bar.

Played in the past and always liked the layout but conditions were awful. Was hugely improved last year and is awesome this year. Don’t hit it too far off the tee: water lurks everywhere
