White Heron Golf Club (formerly known as Ridgewood Lakes Golf Club) has had many accolades over its history and for good reason. The Ted McAnlis layout is sculptured from lush rolling land and features immaculate playing conditions year round. Water and natural wetlands come into play on 16 of our 18 holes and the resident breeze can significantly change the course from day to day. Yet despite the natural beauty and obvious pedigree of the layout, with four sets of tees the course is still enjoyable for golfers of all levels.

Good deal with golf now

Tough course with lots of water and trees. It sure the quality is there for the full price but with GN discount it was fine. Maybe it’s that time of year too but fairways need more grass, they’re a little bald. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

The course was in great condition.

I've been playing against White Heron all year round, but now I'm at my best. I've read some reviews and found out that not everyone is just here to enjoy golf. My golf course selection criteria are price and proper course conditions. However, the people who complain here seem to be looking at the course regardless of the price. If you really want a golf course that's in good condition and service, go to the resort and enjoy it. I highly recommend it if you really want a course that needs tricky layout, quick greens, and heady course management.

This is not recommended for those with high handicaps or those who just want to enjoy golf at a cheap price. They will only feel bad and complain.

To answer a player asking about the proper tees, they are right in single digit handicaps should play Blues and low double digits should play white or yellow. The way to play this course is focus on the 150 yd markers, then focus on the greens and don't go long.

Would it play okay for someone who is a 7HC (blues) and 13 HC (from whites)? looks like a VERY tough slope rating. thanks

Disappointed

We used to play this when it was Ridgewood Lajed and have always enjoyed the course layout. They put a lot of money into the renovations but have not kept up the maintenance. The tee boxes were overgrow the fairways were wet and spotty...bunkers were inconsistent but mostly hard pan. Even the bathrooms were horrible. No sink in one, no lights in another and not maintained at all,

A lot of work would be needed before we would consider coming back. Such a shame

Thank you for playing White Heron Golf Course, the course is in great shape, it is one of the most challenging courses in Central Fl. so bring your A game, all of the sinks work in the bathrooms which also get cleaned and sanitized on a daily basis and all of our bunkers have the right amount of tournament sand, it's easy to confuse bunkers with sandy natural waste areas.

We're sorry your day didn't turn out like you expected. Hope you'll try us in the future

Thank you for playing White Heron Golf Club. Looking at your history on our GPS you teed off at 10:03 (your hot deal time was 10:06) You finished your round at 2:06. The group in front of you was always 10 minutes ahead of your group.

The course conditions are excellent, just read all the other reviews and as far as to many lost balls we have 6 sets of tees to choose from, we advise you pick the correct one for your level of play.

A true test of skill, trouble lurks everywhere. Slope 130 from white tees, 143 from back. Worth the test
