White Heron Golf Club

About
White Heron Golf Club (formerly known as Ridgewood Lakes Golf Club) has had many accolades over its history and for good reason. The Ted McAnlis layout is sculptured from lush rolling land and features immaculate playing conditions year round. Water and natural wetlands come into play on 16 of our 18 holes and the resident breeze can significantly change the course from day to day. Yet despite the natural beauty and obvious pedigree of the layout, with four sets of tees the course is still enjoyable for golfers of all levels.

warm golf
we enjoyed the course and played quickly for the first 9 we then got caught behind a three ball but enjoyed our day the greens were in great condition but some fairways have suffered from insect infection but it is all being dealt with.
Staff in pros shop and behind the bar all great overall a nice experience and we will return regularly
Terrible condition
The fairways were super thin. The layout is odd and the greens were ok. The over all condition of the course was barely fair.
Beautiful course
This was a very difficult course with narrow fairways, mini sand dunes in a lot of water. If you’re a straight shot, it’s a great course and it’s beautiful. If you tend to zigzag, you’re going to lose a lot of balls. Wow it was a tough course. It was certainly beautiful and well-maintained. I would recommend this players who hit par and better.
Vast improvement
Much improved from 2 years ago. Sat nav buggies and greens coming on a treat
These improvements reflected in the increased price

Thank you for playing White Heron Golf Club. That's our goal to constantly improve conditions and service. Sometimes the weather cooperates and sometimes it doesn't, but all and all our staff has done a wonderful job.
Hope to see you soon.

Could be a whole lot better
Tee boxes were horrible, Fairways were not in great shape. The greens were not to bad. Reviews need to be honest. Me and my brother stopped keeping score after only 5 holes.

It wasn’t to all the staff just the guy behind the desk. My brother told me he didn’t acknowledge him so he could check in. He was rude.

Once you give our staff a Poor rating, that's when I realize your comments are not honest.

What Happened To My Home Course?
The fairways and tee boxes were a disaster! The coarse curb appeal is totally lacking as the cart paths and sidewalks are totally overgrown and infested with weeds. Many dead trees line the ponds (from several years back!). On a positive note, the greens were very well maintained! No snack/drink cart ever for a Friday mid morning round. $35/round is really really pushing it! PS I'm a Ridgewood Lake resident from High Vista.

Thank you for playing White Heron Golf Club. Your comments are highly exaggerated, hurricanes are disasters not having a few spots with weak grass. I check every hole every day and there is plenty of grass on the tee boxes and the fairways. Cart paths are not overgrown and they are on a schedule for maintenance and the sidewalks are part of the HOA not the golf course. Coolers on the carts with a great restaurant and bar where you can stock up for your round. This is a championship golf course that you get to play for 35.00-40.00, best deal in town, please next time contact the pro shop with your concerns.

Needs work
The greens where awesome. The fairways and tee boxes where very rough.
I would play here just for the staff
Honestly the course is a little rough and can use some pruning, but was in great shape where it counts (greens, bunkers, tee boxes). Only played 10 today before I got rained out and I would have given this a 3 maybe 4 star but the staff put it over the top for me. Everyone from the cart guy to the starter to the pro shop guy to the owner were super friendly. The owner even gave me a free 18 to come back and play again and I definitely will be back. Also, side note, the restaurant looks like it’s going to be excellent (Korean, Italian, American fusion) so I’m looking forward to that too. Thank you to the staff!

Thank you for playing White Heron Golf Club, we really appreciate the honest review and comments. I can't say enough about our staff and the effort they put into making your Golf experience a memorable one.
See you soon,

Good course gone bad
It is a shame to see a great track go downhill this way. This is a great layout that use to have great conditions consistently, not sure what happened but today was my first time playing it in a couple years and I was very disappointed. The greens are decent with some sandy patches but everything else is way below standards. I would not recommend to anyone that does not live in the community.

Thank you for playing White Heron Golf Club,
When I look at reviews and see only average or below for Staff, that's when I discount the rest of the review.
The course for this time of year is very playable for the amount of rain we receive and we are in our maintenance season which is why our rates are so low. The Greens are in excellent shape and yes there are a couple of small turf repaired areas which are near the collar not affecting the putt at all. Next time contact the pro shop with your issues so we can address them directly.
Thank you, WHGC
Great staff and course layout
Staff in pro shop and starter were so friendly and helpful. We went back twice more based on them the layout and the greens. Fairways need so work but most enjoyable.
Run down
They have let this place go! It used to be great value for the money but now it’s not. After getting bit by fire ants on the very first hole it’s nothing but weeds mud and bald spots. The only saving grace is the greens are decent but do have a few bare spots.

Thank you for playing White Heron Golf Club, we appreciate any honest remarks on our facility. We have been fighting extremely wet conditions that causes limited mowing schedules, to all of the wildlife on our course this time of year, which is great to look at, but can wreak havoc on the course. We are by know means "run down". The course is very playable and the greens are in excellent shape. We have adjusted the cost to play this challenging course, which everyone really appreciates. It is a Championship Layout and will test every part of your game, please try us again in the near future.
Thank you, WHGC
Pro Shop
Pro Shop had mostly womans items and apparel. Tried to get a shirt or hat for a friend.
all womans apparel.
All around great course
This is a difficult course. It’s not for new players. Water comes into play on the majority of holes. Fairways are not too tight. There’s a good amount of sand as well. You definitely get your money’s worth.
Thank you for playing White Heron Golf Club. I like the Zig Zag comment, your so right, like I tell all the players find your favorite club you can hit straight and hit that off of the tee. This is what a Championship Golf Course is like, tough but fair, risk reward, that is why we still have Pro Tours play out here.
We have 6 different tees to support most players, but if you want the White Heron Challenge go back 1 tee.
Thanks once again for playing here and hope to see you soon.
Thank you, WHGC
