Nestled in the heart of California Gold Country, La Contenta Golf Course wanders through the foothills of the Sierras. Being surrounded by beautiful mountains, the course feels peacefully secluded and enjoys stunning views, yet it is conveniently just a short drive from Sacramento and the San Joaquin Valley. The layout sprawls across a diverse terrain that ranges from lush valleys to grassy meadows. With the up-and-down of the golf course, accuracy is a necessity, especially with large water features coming into play on a few holes. There are also strategically placed bunkers to contend with. One particularly memorable hole is the par-3 13th. This scenic hole tumbles down from a dramatic elevated tee. La Contenta Golf Course has been one of northern California's most popular public courses for more than three decades.

It was hot!
Always enjoy playing the course, although they seem to be over watering it. First time playing the course since they made 18 into a par 5! Will definitely be put back in the rotation!
Great course
Lots of changes in elevations and bunkers placed in such a way that requires shotmaking. Great change of play from courses that are flat and or links type.
Perfect score for a perfect day.
Perfect day for me with a little breeze and blue sky in the low 90’s. Perfect score of 72 with 2 birdies and 2 bogeys. The course has improved much from the last month but there are still some areas needed some close attention. It’s a good thing to have a marshal on the course to make the pace a little faster and there was no unruly players that caused some trouble, hitting into us or practicing the driving and the pitching the last time. We returned today to check if that situation continued and if so, we will not return again. But there must have been a good effort from the management to rid that kind of uncomfortable situation. Thanks to the management for your listening to our plea. We really enjoyed the game today. Thanks again to GolfNow.
Unacceptable conditions
they have over watered. sloppy conditions with puddles and soggyness. the rough needs to be mowed but I believer it is too moist to mow. Very disappointed with the conditons of this course as usually it is in great shape
Challenging course.
Decent course for the location. A little wet throughout the course. It was hot so would definitely dry out in the afternoon.
Would definitely play it again once it gets a little coolers.
Very nice course
Played here years ago it was in terrible shape. Now it is in really good shape. Nice layout, be prepared for side hill up hill lies as course is hilly. Good fun course.
This course is nice and tough
I am amazed how tough this course is you can not just hit driver off the tee you have to pick your spots. The course is in very good shape for this time of year. The staff is very friendly

Legit drink cart
Course was in good shape. A little overwatered in some fairways. But green is better than dry and dead rt? Greens were a little slower than I’ve seen, but still good speed. Layout is fun. Driving well and putting good enough to be the champ and take some money makes the day
Perfect weather in the 90’s. Well managed course.
Clean fairways and well maintained greens and tee boxes. Clean facilities including the the field restroom. Perfect weather with a little breeze helped to have the lowest score this year at +3. with 3 birdies and only two bogeys. Sand bunkers need some work but considering the corona virus situation, there is no complains but just appreciation for being able to play the game. Thanks again to GolfNow.

Course was rated 4 because there are wet areas all around the course. Greens running well. Very few unrepaired ball marks. Pace was pretty good. Would have given 4.5 if it were offered.
