About
Pala Mesa Golf Resort is situated between Temecula wine country and the beautiful countryside of San Diego's North County. The course was carefully carved from the surrounding hillsides, providing rolling fairways and undulating greens throughout the layout. Towering oaks, sycamores, and elms blanket the course's landscape, providing the perfect complement to the stunning mountain views. The fairways are tight and lined with trees, demanding a fair amount of accuracy. The greens also play fairly quick. The golf course does provide a challenging round but it is seemingly much tougher than it actually is. Beginners should still feel comfortable taking on the course. The versatile layout in combination with the consistently good conditions have earned Pala Mesa acclaim as one of the best golf courses in San Diego County.

Fun to play
Course is very straight with just a couple of dog legs. Fairway is longer grass not as tight as our home course..
NOT for the Golfer but the Superintendent
No excuse offered or seen for not allowing even handicapped golfers to drive on the fairways! Front nine- 100% cart path only....but fairways in pristine condition, and obvious NO overseeding had taken place in weeks!
Back Nine was promised to be cart-accessible...not true! Even "handicapped' - designated carts could not drive on half the fairways on the back nine!
And again, fairways in pristine shape!
NO warning of these limitations when the booking was made, and these four senior golfers -two visiting for the first time - will NEVER return due principally to the lack of concern for the paying customer!
The PRO Shop response: "We are just told daily by the Superintendent, no reason, we just do what we're told..."

Good Course
Course is good. Really no complaints about the greens compared to other courses. On the other hand, driving range is in serious need of rehab, especially the driving mats. Carts in general could use a little TLC as their age is showing. Restaurant and bar is something straight out of the late 80s. If you don’t mind the decor the food is not bad.

Not worth it!
I have always wanted to play this course as I drive by it quite often. I expected for $75 that it would be on the higher end of courses. The front 9 was cart path only. I don't rent a cart to only drive a little of the course. Because we had never played this course before, I relied on the GPS on the cart to give me distances. Since I couldn't drive close to my ball, I had to grab a couple of clubs every time I had to walk to my ball. The fairways on the front 9 were way, way over grown. Hit it in the middle of the fairway and it was like hitting it into the rough. On the back 9, some holes were cart path only, some were not. Even with drivable fairways, I'd drive about 5 feet off the fairway on the complete opposite side of the fairway from the cart path, and the cart would lock up and I would have to reverse the cart all the way back to the cart path. Stupid! I would NEVER play this course again. Definitely not worth it!

The place gets a C to C-
Fairways have rough overgrown bermuda mix w lots of dirt showing, greens have way too much slope ( never a semi level put on the course) -you get what you pay for here- a $ 60 max value. Not a user friendly course that makes you want to come back for more !

Mow mow mow
Fairways and rough desperately in need of mowing. Since there is noticeable overwatering, this makes it worse without mowing. Fairways and rough are pretty much crabgrass, coupled with overwatering, your club can barely get through the grass. Not only does it slow down the club face, it twists the club. It wouldn't be so bad if it was just the rough, but it happened in the fairway time and again. I'm just glad I had a Hot Deal and only wasted $30 instead of their regular $50 weekday rate.

Disappointed
I checked the website several times regarding cart path only restrictions as we have golfers with medical conditions-there was no mention. When we arrived at the course we were advised the front nine was cart path only. The round also took 4 1/2 hours to play. We found the front nine fairways and greens to be in worse shape than the back nine. We played the course but will not be back.

Where is the fairway?
This course has a nice layout and good pace of play. However, the course condition can be improved a lot. Fairway grasses are very tall, almost as if I’m playing from the roughs. Fun and challenging green though!

Not Good Value
Paid $91 to play at 11:30am on a Saturday. Golf cart included. Figured that was a fair enough deal considering it was the weekend and I liked the course layout when I’ve played here before. This time, there was a single in front of us, a two some in front on him and it took 4h45 to finish the round. C’mon man. A solo? On a Saturday??? Also was disappointed with the condition of the greens, the tee boxes, and finding out it was cart path only. At the turn, there was only hot dogs and Turkey sandwiches. Pretty funny considering that the golf cart message boasts “a new menu!”. That all being said, the staff was very friendly and welcoming so i give them credit there. Long story short, wouldn’t drive all the way out there to spend $91 on 4.75 hr round in the future.

Disappointed
Upon making my reservation a week in advance I was charged a $63.00 green fee. I was not notified that the course would be going through the over seed process and that it would be cart path only, I was also not notified that due to the over seed they reduced the green fee to $49.00. I was not given a refund since I chose to pre-pay for my round through the Golf Now app. The tee boxes where over grown and needed to be mowed, the fairways where wet and somewhat soggy in places. The greens where in okay condition. This course has a great layout that is challenging and its a shame to see it in such poor condition.

First time I can honestly say I did not enjoy a round of golf.
Cart path only led to massive delays. 4 groups on one tee.
