About
Pala Mesa Golf Resort is situated between Temecula wine country and the beautiful countryside of San Diego's North County. The course was carefully carved from the surrounding hillsides, providing rolling fairways and undulating greens throughout the layout. Towering oaks, sycamores, and elms blanket the course's landscape, providing the perfect complement to the stunning mountain views. The fairways are tight and lined with trees, demanding a fair amount of accuracy. The greens also play fairly quick. The golf course does provide a challenging round but it is seemingly much tougher than it actually is. Beginners should still feel comfortable taking on the course. The versatile layout in combination with the consistently good conditions have earned Pala Mesa acclaim as one of the best golf courses in San Diego County.

Not a pleasant experience
Carts were very dirty. They had a GPS system with bluetooth speakers, which was a bonus. But if you drove closer than 90 yards to the green (yes, 90 yards), once you stopped the carts would only go in reverse at a snails pace. We have carts at our course that will not let you get closer than 30 yards from the green but 90 yards is ridiculous. Perhaps it was a malfunction or not correctly programed but both carts did the same thing and no one at the course warned us of this. The condition of the course was marginal, greens were good.

terrible cart function
carts are disable sometime more than 100 yards from green with no sign in fairway warning to proceed to cart path

Golf carts
I’m 78 years old and to play a course that stop you cart when you get within 30 yards or cart path only fairways take away some of the fun

Definitely not for disabled players
The course was roped off as carts only. I did not know this when I signed up. I am disabled and would not have signed up had a known. The carts are equipped to only allow backing up when you get in restricted areas. I told the pro shop I was disabled and they said they would disable this on my cart. They never did. As a result I was forced to walk a significant distance with hazardous conditions several times. I understand they do this to protect the condition of the course but it should be stated before allowing tee times to be booked. It definitely would not be approved by the Americans With Disabilities Act. Was extremely disappointed.

Great course
I honestly figured for the price of it that the course wouldn’t be in the best condition, but the condition was amazing, greens were really quick but very playable, the we’re doing some work on the tee boxes but that wasn’t an issue. Great time at this course, will definitely be coming back to play again.

Nice and challenging
It was our first time play this nice course, layout was great and fairway was narrow and Greens were great shape!
The only exception is their carts which have GPS and will suddenly stop moving if you go into a "restricted area". Problem is they don't marks at all!
The food and drinks are very decent prices and staffs were very nice. Today we had 2 players left cell phone on unexpected places and both phones found ! We were very lucky!

Needs work
Temporary tees on bare spots due to overseed. Fairways sparse. Greens slow but playable. Disappointing maintenance. Just worn out and in need of a major overhaul. I forgot how loud I-15 sounds on this course.
