Pala Mesa Resort
About
Pala Mesa Golf Resort is situated between Temecula wine country and the beautiful countryside of San Diego's North County. The course was carefully carved from the surrounding hillsides, providing rolling fairways and undulating greens throughout the layout. Towering oaks, sycamores, and elms blanket the course's landscape, providing the perfect complement to the stunning mountain views. The fairways are tight and lined with trees, demanding a fair amount of accuracy. The greens also play fairly quick. The golf course does provide a challenging round but it is seemingly much tougher than it actually is. Beginners should still feel comfortable taking on the course. The versatile layout in combination with the consistently good conditions have earned Pala Mesa acclaim as one of the best golf courses in San Diego County.

Roll The Dice
It had been 5+ years since my last round at Pala Mesa and I am happy to have returned. Some of the holes remained familiar and the narrow layout is penal for a wayward driver. But the course is fair and rewards good shots. The par 3's play to similar yardages but present their own challenges; Uphill vs. downhill, protected by deep bunkers, sloping greensites, etc. I chose to play Pala Mesa because of the short scorecard yardage and restaurant ammenities while hosting my dad for a vacation round of golf and it was the perfect venue on the perfect day. We went off as a twosome and played the full round in just over 3 hours. Pala Mesa will be back in my rotation for more future rounds, hopefully with a more accurate game off the tee.
For a hot deal, it was great
Pala Mesa is back! Conditions were good, glad they are reviving this place. There is more work to be done on off course stuff, but we were happy with everything tee to green.
Course preparedness
Due to recent rains I expected some wet conditions but there are thing I would think would have been done immediately after the rains. Such as raking of the sand on the traps/bunkers. The sand contours were unplayable. If maintenance had simply gone out there and ran a rake over them before play the round would have been more enjoyable.
One of our favorites!
Every time we make it to southern California we try to play Pala Mesa. You actually have a fairway to hit off. This year has been pretty dry in the area, but the course was still in good shape and challenging. The greens this year seems to have gotten some sort of disease, but still played fairly true. Love the course layout, especially on the back nine. Use the front nine to hone your game! The staff in the pro shop and throughout the resort are very considerate and friendly. We just love visiting this place! Large practice putting green. Driving range decent.
Beautiful Course
Great day, only lost one golf ball and had a couple of birdies!!
Great course, great people
Had such a wonder round of golf. The pace was fast, the staff and especially the Marshall Lane were fantastic. If going south and have a chance the okay here well worth it. Pala Casino purchased in 2024 and has spent a good amount on the course and you can telll.
GREAT COURSE
Played on a Wednesday so price was better than the weekend rate pace of play was great and the conditions were perfect amazing scenery made it a real enjoyable round. By no means was this an easy course with some quirky layouts and hole positions.
Excellent course and service
First time was recommended. Wasn’t disappointed instead couldn’t be happier on my choice. Fairways are in excellent condition, greens aren’t too hard or fast. Sand traps are very tough they replaced mosey with new sand. Lane the marshal was so nice and even let me know they had open course in front and behind if I wanted to to take extra time. Will be back on my next visit down to San Diego
Not long but narrow and tough!
The blues at barely over 6100... this course's defense is it's narrow fairways and fast undulating greens. Get above the hole, you better leave the putter cover on and hope it goes in. This course is always lush green and in great condition.
