Westridge Golf Club is a challenging layout designed by Robert Muir Graves, a familiar name in California golf. Graves has designed many of the state's most popular courses including Boundary Oak in Walnut Creek and Quail Lodge Golf Club in Carmel. At just under 6,600 yards, Westridge G.C. is seemingly short but what it lacks in length it makes up for with more than 60 sand bunkers strategically placed alongside the narrow fairways and sloping greens. There are also some holes that offer interesting risk-reward opportunities for adventurous big hitters. The elevation changes throughout provide difficult uphill and downhill shots that will depend almost entirely on proper club selection. Water hazards also come into play on four holes. The golf course finishes with a dramatic par 5 that plays downhill against the winds to a rolling fairway and then into a fiercely protected green.

Great layout. Great greens

Played a Saturday morning 7 am. Pace of play was good. Several marshals on the course. Fairways are a bit rough and need over seeded. The greens are really nice and fast. The course layout is cool with lots of great views. The course is tight but not overly long. You need to be able to hit your target or you would struggle. Overall a good experience and a good day of golf for the money.

Pace of play

Staff is friendly, course maintenance is terrible for the price. Pace of play is absolutely one of the worst courses I’ve played. The layout is not easy, the need to stop letting out six groups per hour. 1:00 tee time finished at 6:45.

Waited on every hole, including 1 when the starter sent us down with 3 groups already waiting. Parts of the fairways were bare and some of the tee boxes looks like they hadn’t been mowed in a month. Cool course layout but very poor condition and management.

Mow the fairways!

I play Westridge every couple months. I played on 4/3 and was very disappointed in the conditions. The course is obviously green with all the rains, and the greens were acceptable. However, the fairways need attention. The grass is too long and there is so much clumpy grass that the middle of the fairway along with the “good grass” being way too long. I realize with the recent wet conditions, it has to be hard to keep up with the growth but it just needs more maintenance. Most of the bunkers are concrete and are completely like hardened mud. This course has a decent layout but needs some TLC. Staff is nice and place has potential to be a gem. Just take better care of it!

Pace of play and course conditions

First off the fairways were like the rough no grooming at all. Greens were good though. The worst part was the pace of play and stacked tee times. My tee off time was at 308 but didn’t tee off till 330. Took 3 in a half hours to play 9 holes. There was no one regulating pace of play. Sad because I enjoy the lay out but 25 minutes to get play each hole for the price I paid is rediculous. I wanted to go complain but by the time I got to the clubhouse it was closed. One of the worst experiences playing golf.

Bad, Really Bad Course

This is by far the worst course I've played in recent times. Even though I understand that it's not easy to maintain the course with so much rain, the conditions are not playable. The rough is not managed properly and it's so long that everyone spends too much time looking for balls if they go in there. Too many people are also booked, so it takes too long to play. People who started after 1:30 couldn't finish before sunset.

Horse in horrible condition, due to constant rain the last couple of weeks

The course was saturated and had not been maintained in weeks due to the rain. The rain really wreaked havoc on the course with mud and flooding.

Poor Management / tortuous Pace of play

Pace was awful…Teetime was 1:24 pm and didn’t tee off until 1:44 pm. Overall round ended at 7:20 pm…6 hours. Waiting at each tee box, fairway. Told marshal the group was waiting until the group in front of them got to the green before they teed off…he did nothing about it. Seemed averse to teach ready golf to the golfers. Course was muddy with too many ruts and bare spots into and out of fairways. Nice views but not worth the wait. Sorry but course needs better management.

Wet wet wet

South 9 is bad course design and way too wet for play, the course should’ve closed this 9 on this day for at least a week. Easy nine was ok design and also wet but manageable for cart path only golf

Both 9s had greens condition were very good for so much rain we received during last few weeks

Try not to play the East 9 if possible
