Westridge Golf Club
About
Westridge Golf Club is a challenging layout designed by Robert Muir Graves, a familiar name in California golf. Graves has designed many of the state's most popular courses including Boundary Oak in Walnut Creek and Quail Lodge Golf Club in Carmel. At just under 6,600 yards, Westridge G.C. is seemingly short but what it lacks in length it makes up for with more than 60 sand bunkers strategically placed alongside the narrow fairways and sloping greens. There are also some holes that offer interesting risk-reward opportunities for adventurous big hitters. The elevation changes throughout provide difficult uphill and downhill shots that will depend almost entirely on proper club selection. Water hazards also come into play on four holes. The golf course finishes with a dramatic par 5 that plays downhill against the winds to a rolling fairway and then into a fiercely protected green.

Wildlife Masterminds
Golf course conditions were great but the green speeds were slightly slow but it should change going into summer. But beware of them darn squirrels, they work in teams and will steal any food you have. They’ll wait and watch you get off your golf cart, then strike when you’re in the tee box. Darn squirrels stole our snacks, protein bars and almost our beer. They do this like it’s a smash and grab robbery! So beware!
Fairways are on life support
It's a shame what's happened to this course. Many of the fairways had so many bare spots with no grass or just plain dirt everywhere. There were a few good holes, but most were in need of serious repair or reseeding. Most of the bunkers were just hard pan dirt. If management took time to fix these problems, this would be a nice course once again. Until then, it's worth playing elsewhere.
Keep up with the group ahead
Good pace of play. 4.5 hrs with 845am start on Thursday. Greens are being aerated this upcoming week so beware. There was a 3 group backup on the 1st tee as we completed our round. Keep pace and
All in All - Good
Track routing is really nice. Greens were in good condition and require some accuracy to be in the right area. For the cost on a Saturday morning can’t complain at all.
Westridge on Sunday afternoon
Slow. Very slow. sometimes noticed 4 groups in one hole. like #3 hole. 1,2,3,4 is very slow pace. Beautiful 18th hole.
Appreciate the Marshall but they need to be better
Westridge does indeed need Marshall’s and there were 2 when we played as they were dispatched because someone reported slow play. The marshalls were yelling and reprimanding the group infront of us because they had beginners, but it was 2 groups ahead of them that were playing slow. The Marshalls got it wrong and made the assumption that beginners are the ones causing the delay but it wasn’t them. I felt bad for the Americans in front of us getting reprimanded when they are paid customers and they weren’t the cause. Marshall’s, be better, as a fellow Korean that was really sad to see.
Trouble Ahead
Great layout course and I like the redirection of this course recently, shot placement is a must because of the side hills. This is one of difficulty course here in Orange County
