As good as it gets for the price!
The course was in terrific shape. The greens were very smooth and quick. The front nine was pretty easy, but the back nine really brings some difficulty to the round. An all-around great course and layout. You can't beat this for the price. I will be back!
It's course is a good value for the price.
The course is conveniently located. For the money, it is a pretty good value. Greens are somewhat rough. The back nine holes are in pretty rough shape. Ownership should address this situation aggressively.
THIS COURSE NEEDS TO PAY ATTENTION TO DETAIL
FLAG COLORS CHANGED ON THE FRONT NINE. NO SIGNS TO GET FROM HOLE TO HOLE ON BACK NINE. HAD TO ASKED HOW TO GET BACK TO THE CLUB HOUSE ON THE TURN. HAD NO IDEA HOW TO GET TO TEE 10 IT WAS SO POORLY MARKED.
great course
we love this course
should play later in year so there is more fairway grass
bermuda was still dormant
other than that just great
Great beautiful course, but the greens in very rough shape.
The course, for the most part, was very nice. The greens were very rough to play on. It was recently aerated and mostly sand. However, paying $16 for those conditions felt like a very fair price.
Royal Oaks
Course is tough. Play in and around the housing, Not walkable. The 2 guys we hooked up with were a blast! Ronnie & John. Greens need some work.
Good to revisit course again, I haven't been there in 10 years.
Of course we played on a warm January day, so it was very crowded. Saw the first ranger on the 15th hole...........he could have sped things up earlier. The course could have been in better shape, but it IS January! All in all, we had a good time and the greens were in pretty good shape.
For winter time, course in excellent condition.
Great value. Greens in excellent condition. Golf carts operated with no problems. Staff very friendly & accommodating.
bargain
We booked a 1:30 tee time at a great rate. Nice offer for a first time player at the course. The course was in good shape for December. I've never played in a course that is so woven into a housing community. Wasn't really a problem except when I sliced a drive onto someone's roof (the homeowners were outside and were understanding). We had a great time and will be back.
Great time great price!
Always a fun course to play. Would recommend. In a nice community with nice scenery.
Overall good course..
Kind staffs, good course condition, excellent value, just perfect relaxing
Course needs work, but great value for the money. Staff can be rude at times.
Earlier this summer I played several times at Royal Oaks. At first I loved it. The course has a fun, challenging layout, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The course needs work to be in stellar condition, but it compares favorably to most of the public courses in the area.
Then I had a couple of bad episodes. I'll describe the worst.
I shot my best round ever, finishing up with just enough time to play a second round. I was told to be back at 8:30 pm. I shot an even better round, by far the best of my life. Coming into the last couple of holes, it was getting late, so I hurried. As I started 18, it was closing in on 8:30. If I was playing normal golf, I would have skipped the hole, but when you're shooting the best round of your life, you figure the clubhouse won't be upset about you coming in a few minutes after 8:30. Besides, although the sun was setting, there was plenty of remaining light to finish the hole.
Wrong. The guy in the clubhouse chewed me out. I responded in a lighthearted way, apologizing for being a few minutes late, but pointing out that I was playing my best round ever. Every comment I made was met with a sarcastic, condescending response. Rather than argue, I walked off with a flat "Sorry," but thinking, "Yeah, and you'll never see me again."
I didn't check the time until I was on the main highway driving off. At that time it was 8:45, which means I arrived back at the clubhouse between 8:35 or 8:40. (It's a long cart drive from 18 to the clubhouse, I unloaded my clubs and drove the cart to the return area, settled into my car and started driving, all before 8:45.)
For weeks I didn't return to Royal Oaks. I recently played there again because the Golf Now rate was incredibly cheap, but otherwise I play other courses.
great staff with good course
course was a little short for my liking, but the greens were fast and challenging
Beautifuly redone !
Well the course was wonderful, however it has had hole changes and it was very hard to navigate. The old 1 hole is now the 3rd hole, and no marking as to where 1 was. Staff didnt offer any advice or mention changes and was on the phone the whole time we were making our purchase. Oh and no outside drinks are allowed, I really hate this rule !
Great condition!
I would recommend this course to friends and coworkers. The fairways and greens were in really good shape.
too wet to play
I didn't play this day because it rained all day, between a slow drizzle to some fairly hard downpours. Maryville recieved about 3/4 of an inch that day but the course remained open so I just lost my green fee. Lesson learned. I've played the course before and it is great fun with some stunning views. I will bypass hole # 13 in the future, too hard for me (18 handicap)
local c
play it all the time and know every blade of grass.but it is an easy course that you can shot 5 to 6 strokes below what your normal score is.which makes you feel like superman unless you happen to play the next day at a real course .then you are brought back down to earth.but to be fair i play from the whites.i bet it would be a beast from the tips.number 12 and 13 for sure
This course has some elevation changes!
This course has some elevation changes! The course was in really good condition. The greens were running true and at a good speed. The sand traps are placed at strategic positions to cause you to really think and work your way around the course. The course has bermuda fairways and rough. The rough is wirery and difficult to get out of. If you are in the area, it's a course worth playing.
Good course
I think the course was pretty challanging which i like, but the only thing was they had no driving range which needs to be addressed im a 6 handi cap but i am 52 yrs old and i need to warm up before i play a round its very hard to drive 35 miles to a course and jump out of your truck and tee it up shot 45 on front 36 on the back!!!!!!!!!!!!!Other than that i found it to be a nice course with a very freindly staff.
