Scenic View of Course Photo submitted by u000005094963 on 02/14/2013
Just opened after reseading. Condition was superb
Great course. Pristine condition as it was just reopened. Rob, the starter was very fun and helpful. Excellent time.
Great Course!
The course was in good shape. Staff was friendly and very accommodating with our luggage as we were flying out after our round.
We especially loved quite a few of the holes with the layout design. That made it a good blend of character challenging holes along with some holes having an ease of playability. Greens were a little smaller then most courses we have played in the area, but we’re in great shape.
Tahquitz Creek Resort Course
Very nice layout and in great condition. First off the tee so got around in 2:.5 hours. Pro shop was friendly but no discounted replay rate. Restaurant staff were fantastic! Overall a great experience but a shame no replay rate.
Good solid course.
Very good course. Only drawback is that greens are a bit of a walk from the cart path, which might be a bit of an issue for those with walking issues. Could only get 15 holes in when starting at 1:20. Otherwise a very nice Mid November course.
Bad experience
I have played many courses in the area through the years and this would be the worst of any I have played at this point.
My wife and I paired with a nice couple who also were not very happy with the course. We paid 98 each, I would have not been satisfied if we had paid half that.
Will not go back.
Outstanding
First time playing the Resort Course and I liked it so much I came back the next day! Conditions were fantastic, course was empty and the staff was awesome: What more can you ask for? Traditionally, La Quinta and PGA West are my favorite spots in the valley, but more and more I find myself going to Tahquitz because it’s challenging and well maintained but also very playable and always super fun
Bad course
For the value of money you can play way better courses, the fairways weren’t very good and it seemed as if the course had been let go
Palm Springs Tune Up
What a nice course to get acclimated to Palm Springs. For a city course it's a pleasure to play.
Staff very outgoing. Good pace of play.
Resort
Rode the Greens (6705/71.3/124) in slightly over 2H twilight. Played with 2 guys who were good and had playing fast down to a science, we played 18 basically in the dark to finish. Low 100's, breezy and clear.
The Resort course is definitely the better of the two Tahquitz courses. Older, traditional track without many upgrades. Few homes around the course is a +. Like the layout. however, the playing conditions, while better than the Legends are still mediocre.
Bermuda tees were semi lush, mostly level and in decent condition.
Bermuda fairways are mostly generous in width and were semi lush with some brown patches.
Bermuda rough was mowed down low. Mostly semi lush, but there were many browned out areas that were thin to semi hardpan.
Traps were decently maintained with mostly fluffy dirt.
Bermuda greens were smooth but slower than the greens on the Legends course. Medium speed at best and they are firm.
No on course staff and the restaurant was closed late afternoon. Few water stations on the course. Customer service was excellent with the pro shop and cart staff. No GPS on the basic carts. Decent, fun layout. Usually a good budget alternative in the Palm Springs area, but would wait until after fall over seeding based on what I experienced today.
Played Resort course for first time great track. Like the layout
Warm Day
This course always plays well. If you have never played it. It s a must play.
One of the few golf courses where I played golf without regret during summer vacation at Palm Springs
The only drawback is that the green is a little slow in midsummer like other courses
