Course was under repairs due to rain.
Course was in terrible shape. Still charged the same fees knowing some of the holes were washed out due to the previous rain conditions...not good.
Poor pairing
Should not allow a “family” to join our twosome with mom carrying a dog and kids riding in a cart, the young golfer being constantly schooled by her father. After introducing ourselves and teeing off on #1, they chose to stay behind and ignore us out in the fairway, rude to say the least.
Tahquitz Creek
Due to the water issues 9 th hole was a mess, so only did 17 holes.
Flood
It would have been nice if I was told that 3 holes were washed out because they are built in an area called the wash and when water comes from the mountains it affects 3 holes. The rest of the course was okay but nothing special. Greens and fairways were in very good condition but not worth full price. A better design would be to build some creeks and a couple of ponds so if flooded, entire course is still playable. Seems like they just want to take your money.
Not worth the price
Played the Resort course back in October of 2022, and just played the Legends course this past weekend 3/17/23. I was a little off put by the price back in October before “prime time” season in the desert, but gave this course a try because it was close to the hotel we stayed at for a wedding. For a $75 round in October, I wasn’t expecting to walk up to such an out-dated facility. The driving range, chipping area, and practice putting greens are actually in surprisingly great shape both times I’ve been here, however THE PRACTICE GREENS DO NOT ROLL THE SAME AS THE GREENS ON THE COURSE. Both times I’ve visited - the course maintenance itself was actually very good in general, but the greens are just so dreadfully slow on both courses it was hard to appreciate how well manicured the fairways and tee boxes were.
This round in March 2023 wasn’t much different. I’m not going to complain about the fact that 3 holes had to be “re-routed” due to the snow melt causing the normally trickling wash area to flood. The staff did a great job at explaining the changes to these holes and although we didn’t get to play the full length of those 3 holes, we did still get to play 18 holes.
All in all both courses are fun pretty easy tracks, but I personally do not agree with their price points throughout the year. Carts don’t have built in gps, no water bottles provided (just a cooler with ice, which IS nice), water stations on course are just old school poorly filtered water fountains you’d find on a school campus. I actually passed on refilling my water bottle at each of these stations because the water coming out was a very NOT CLEAR white color…. All of these features come standard when paying $75-109 for a round of golf, ESPECIALLY in the desert.
Unfortunately the price of golf has been going up dramatically everywhere…. And it’s finally getting to the point where I’m going to make sure the public knows when a course is actually worth the $$$ they’re charging. Neither of these courses are worth it unless you happen to find a DEEP discounted tee time. Wouldn’t pay more than $70 in todays climate, wouldn’t pay more than $50 during non-inflation ridden times. KEEP GOLF AFFORDABLE! Would return here if their green fees were a bit cheaper
enjoyable for a not to serious golfer
good shape not much variety,,poor service in proshop..
A very nice course
The pros:
Course is in great shape
Wide open, few hazards
Staff are really nice
They allow us to take our dog in our cart
The cons:
Occasional non golfers walk on the course during play
The sand traps are compacted and have very little sand in them
Pretty good
Nice morning. Course was a bit flooded and like hard-pack in some places. Greens are hard and fast (neither a good or bad thing). Played poorer than usual scored in low 90’s.
Since pace of play is most impotrant to me, I will say that the foursome in front of us played slowly and had several holes open in front of them and not once did a course marshall show up (my guess is that these guys were younger than me but played like they were in their 90’s).
Huge disappointment
We teed off 40 minutes late because of kart shortages. The starter was apologetic but we still didn’t get started anywhere near our purchased and registered tee time. The course condition was, at best, poor. The greens were pick marked and the fairway markings were questionable. I would not recommend the course to any of my friends.
Pretty good value
Overall a pleasant experience at the Legend course of Tahquitz. A little disorganized at the start due to lack of carts. The course gets more challenging as you go. The last 4 holes are long.
Good course
We enjoyed it but the group in front of us were slow and no one was marshalling
Slow start
We waited a long time fora cart and as a result were 20 minutes late to tee off , however pace of play excellent after that. Old style course but layout was fine, fairways could use some attention.. price was a little high for this course but overall we had a good day.
Overpricec
This course was overpriced for its layout and condition. We were twenty minutes late to tee off due to lack of carts but once we started pace of play was good,
