Falcon's Fire Golf Club
About
The 18-hole Falcon's Fire Golf Club in Kissimmee, FL is a public golf course that opened in 1993. Designed by Rees Jones and Greg Muirhead, Falcon's Fire Golf Club measures 7006 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 135 and a 73.2 USGA rating. The course features 4 sets of tees for different skill levels. The greens are tifdwarf bermuda and the fairways are bermuda grass.
Falcon's Fire, a Rees Jones and Greg Muirhead signature masterpiece, is typically wide open, however, shot accuracy is essential. Fairways and greens are well bunkered, and water hazards are a common occurrence.

dissapoints
So.... finally got a game at FF after many years coming over to FL.
I must admit I was more than a little disappointed. The layout is fine ( I played Blue tee boxes), and even allowing for recent aeration the greens were quite poor and "tacky", the roll never seemed consistent from one green to the next. The blue tee boxes were in poor shape and I am guessing as not many people play the 6473 yards, they don't get much use so it's hard to see why they were so scrubby ?
Plenty of water but not always actually in play off the tee box, fairways were wide and generous but grass was on the longer side. Bunkers however were in really bad shape ( not easy to maintain on 2 fronts I understand,
(1. The heavy Florida rain storms 2. People playing but not even raking them or when they did rake them leaving mounds from incorrect raking)
Played with three good guys, Lester and Greig ( brothers ) and Will. They played white and explained that they play a different game with lots of mulligans and some of the most generous gimmies I have ever seen LOL. ( you keep playing your way guys !! golf ⛳️ should be what you make it in non comps). I played my game and found it after 5 hole's and ended up firing level handicap with a par on the last.
I would however play again.
Ripped off
I booked the course through golf now in Florida and I was charged a fee and when I went to the course I was charged this fee also. It was never subtracted from the golf now fee. Poor communication between course and golf now. I will never book with golf now again. Deleted app
Ripped off.
Booked through golf now and paid a charge. I was charged full rate at golf course. Paid charge twice. No communication between golf now and golf course. Will never book through golf now again. Deleting app on my phone.

Great twilight round!
Played on a Friday, late in the afternoon - figured I'd see how many holes I could get in before sunset. Absolutely cruised, finished all 18 in about 2.5 hours as a single. Got hung up behind a group for the front 9, but they were kind enough to let me play through. Can't ask for more on the pace of play front!
Wouldn't describe the course as overly difficult, but pretty much every green is well protected and requires precision on approach.
With the exception of one tee box, conditions were totally fine, especially given the more than fair twilight pricing. Fairways were in good shape, greens had just been punched but were otherwise fine!
Staff was friendly and efficient. Maybe not the flashiest course in Orlando, but in terms of bang for your buck, a really solid offering!
Be Up Front on Conditions
So we live here in Central Florida. We understand that course/greens require aeration in early summer. But... While searching tee times I found numerous courses with a up front "aeration alert" so we knew before booking what was up. Falcon's Fire did NOT post this in the booking information.
When dropping clubs up top, the staff member was very rude. There was a man waiting so when the staffer came up top I said "this gentleman was here 1st" to which he replied "I know about him, what is your tee time" Ok, my bad I guess for trying to be polite. Then when we said (one of our foursome was with me) that we would both be drivers and the remaining 2 folks riders, he simply said "bags will be down below, you can figure it out".
Check in was fast. Still no mention of conditions of greens. Grabbed range ball ticket and headed down. Figured out our bags, loaded up and headed to range (NOTE: it is well beyond time to rework your ball machine. Can't even read the keypad display).
We saw the practice green was punched...
When we got to the starter he was very on point and polite. We asked about the greens and he confirmed they had been punched Tuesday. "Still pretty rough".
There was no mention that there was not a Beverage Cart by anyone we interacted with. Figured it out after not seeing them on the front 9.
Overall play was fine. Pace was good. Rough was "Pretty rough/choppy" Chipping from @ the green was questionable. Ended up putting more than chipping due to condition.
This is supposed to be a "premier" track. I get certain times of year they are in transition between grasses. But the overall attitude of many of the staff is lacking. Maybe there is too much tourist play and they get fed up with inexperienced player. But if you don't like your job, go find a new one. Let someone else who wants to be there take over.
Aerated without notice
The course had been aerated within a week of playing it. There were zero notices given before or while booking the tee time. Extremely frustrating to not know that info before getting to the course. The sand traps were frequently under water or almost unplayable. Pretty disappointing all around, but horrible to not have been given notice ANYWHERE that the course was just aerated.
The was very fun to play challenging but fun
Falling off
If this course were better manicured, it'd be nice. Needs grass cut, weed killer and trap maintenance. Greens were ok.
The course was in rough shape. Greens were terrible and the fringe area were on most hole dirt and not grass. I did hear that this was the day before airatating the greens so I guess understandable but all in all not good.
I have played when the course was in good shape and it is beautiful.
Lots of Bunkers
We played this course 7 yrs ago, was pristine then. This time around just okay. Once the rainy season kicks in, course will come back
What used to be is not anymore
This used to be one of the finest tracts in Central Florida. Too bad, it has gone downhill in the past few years.
LOTS OF POTENTIAL
For my 8:30 tee time, I was paired with a gentleman from the UK and at the last moment by a young couple from Tampa. Two inches of rain the previous night required us to play cart path only, which really slowed us down. The Ron Garl design, with significant mounding between the fairways and cart paths made finding our golf shots a challenge, even though they usually found the wide fairways. Amazingly, my new Brit friend marched out to his ball WITHOUT any clubs. After checking his GPS watch. He retraced his steps to get his club. Sheesh!
What a waste of steps!
But I digress. The facility is top notch overall, but apparently recovering from a down period of care, perhaps caused by cash flow problems during Covid. The fairways were in nice condition, the tee boxes spacious, and the large greens decent, if not perfect. My main issue was the condition of the bunkers, in need of edging and raking. Garl's design is to make the greenside bunkers intimidating from afar, but with generous space between them and the greens. I'd suggest hiring one or two more maintenance staffers to restore what I am guessing was a first class operation .
Final thoughts: Carts are due for replacement / pro shop is fully stocked and we'll staffed./ good practice range. Despite 90 degree weather and the cart path only requirement, it was an enjoyable day on the course.
Overcharged
Paid a deposit online but this was not reflected in the charges on the day
Poor course management
Course was in average shape, pace of play was brutal. Should’ve been about a 3 1/2 hour round and ended up being almost 5. We waited on just about every hole and the Marshalls didn’t do much at all to speed up the course. In fact their overall attitude was to try to teach me about the game of golf on the tee box. Water on the course tasted like it had been pulled from the lakes. Many courses in Orlando, won’t be making the drive 30 minutes south to play here again for $60
Unexpected
This course has always been a favorite… but I haven’t been there in about 8 months. The course was in terrible condition! The grass brown was everywhere, especially out of the bunkers. The staff was very unhelpful and the cart monitor… was just rude. On the turn no beverages were available except water and Gatorade, and all the water coolers were empty. Oh ya… after we paid we were told there was an 18th birthday party in front of us with 8 people, 4 players and we needed to be patient. What a JOKE!
