Hammock Creek Golf Club
About
Hammock Creek Golf Club, a Jack Nicklaus Legacy Design, is a fabulous daily fee layout on the Treasure Coast of Florida. Opened in July of 1996, the Club has hosted several local, state, and national competitions. Featuring five sets of tees from 5,045 to 7,131 yards, the golf course is a favorite for both locals and snowbirds alike. The practice facility offers one acre of celebration turf to satisfy the most ardent game improvement golfers. The centerpiece of the Hammock Creek community though is the clubhouse, which completed an extensive renovation in October of 2020. The restaurant, verandahs, and dining deck offers breakfast and lunch daily, with a variety of daily and weekly specials to quench your thirst and satisfy your appetite.

Hammock
one of my favorite go to courses. Not particularly difficult but a few challenging holes. We fondly call this course a confidence builder. 9th hole is a long par 5 and 3rd shot is guarded by bunkers. Backside is more challenging w a few tricky par 4s. 16th hole is a bit gnarly but w good drive and iron shot you are on green in regulation.
Course has been on great shape q some speedy greens 11 or 12. Pace of play was slow mid-day for a while but speeding up. Just under 4 hrs last week. Staff is great - a great golf day.
Très bon A-1
Très beaux terrain
Je recommande à mes amis golfeurs
Les verts sont Tres beaux
Great time
First time at this course in several years. It has wide fairways, minimal water, and few forced carrys.
The fairways were in great condition, but moist and producing very little run. Several greens were in marginal shape with large areas affected. Greens keepers need to move the flags away from damaged areas and golfers would not complain as much. The speed was down on all of the greens making them very friendly.
All of the staff were friendly, polite, and efficient. The ranger sped up the three in front of us and we finished in just over 4hours on a Sunday.
Good value.
Mild Jack
Nice straightforward course with average challenges- pleasant layout. Greens were very good, but could have been a touch faster.
Only impressed
Greens were firm and slow and the rough around the greens was very spotty resulting in poor lies. Five of the greens were in poor to fair condition with resodded areas and top dressing to mask the loss of grass The highly touted GPS in the cart was wacky; ie 180 yd par three: hit tee shot 150 yds short right then pitch 30 yds over the bunker to the flag! Are U kidding me? Over rated and over priced. Course staff was good. Will not see our foresome again.
brit in fl
unfortunately greens are showing signs of wear or disease, two were extensively sanded.
I like playing here but greens need to be improved,
likewise pace of play.
Tough course under windy conditions
This course is too long from the senior tees. Many holes played into the wind and were unreachable, even with good drives. The greens are elevated with most pins tucked behind bunkers. Some of the fairways were generous, but I grew weary hitting fairway woods into many greens. The speed of the greens made the course even more difficult.
You can remove a Yankee from the north....
the course is a very nice track the practice facilities are very good. Unfortunately the people in the pro shop are not the friendliest as you would expect with transplanted northerners. This was my first time playing the course and got through six holes before injuring my knee. I have used golf now 4 years and play about 40 rounds per year, half of them being purchased through golf now. In other times and at other courses when I have had to leave due to injury or being on call for my job 95% of courses would give me a 9 hole rain check as long as I had not played more than 10 holes. This course did not and for that simple courtesy I will not be back and I suggest you find other courses that are just as challenging but with better staffing
So sad that some greens are in bad shape
Was our first visit to Hammock Creek.
We loved the lay-out.
Fairways are quite easy to hit.
The greens are quite a challenge though but the speed is great.
Unfortunately, 2-3 greens are in really bad condition. Bad enough that we tried the first put but decided that we would count max 2 putts on these greens.
I will go back for sure, but not now as I don't see those greens getting back to a respectable shape for many weeks.
We apologize that your experience at Hammock Creek did not exceed your expectations. Our job is your pleasure and our staff works diligently to provide for your enjoyment. As for the (2) two problematic greens you referenced, we believe that they have internal drainage issues which can only be resolved through disruptive excavation. We plan to make the drainage repairs as soon as possible but meanwhile we have recently sodded the thin areas to provide an accommodating putting surface. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Greens have a Problem
Have played this course Many Many times first time in years I have found this course in deplorable condition. Either not enough watering or too much. fairways were green in spots as was the rough. The greens were unputalbe on at least 8 holes. Love this course but will wait until problems have been corrected. Staff is wonderful.
ok for this time of the year
fairways are ok
easy to hit out of rough , compared to summer
some of the greens are infected and sandy
Five greens were un - playable
At $50 per person was not a good value. Jack Nicklaus designed but not a Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course.
Stay away until greens are Replaced.
Generous fairways and large greens
Course was fun to play and there was plenty of room on most fairways for errant shots. Greens were extremely fast and fun to putt on. However, 4 of the greens had fine green sand in some areas which slowed the ball down - so it was frustrating trying to gauge correct speed on those greens. Overall a good course.
Pleasant Course but...
Played on a very windy afternoon. Played from the blue (middle) tees. Course length from those tees was about 6300 yards. Even with the wind I'd say the yardage felt right. Fair amount of water, some forced carries. Out of bounds and/or hazards on most every hole, but generally speaking fairways are wide and forgiving. Greens quality was what let this course down. Most greens were OK, a couple were in good shape, but two or three were almost unplayable due to the amount of sand sitting on top of them. No exaggeration, the sand was a 1/2 inch deep in some areas of these greens. Other than that, a nice course with friendly staff.
great layout
great layout as one would expect from a Nicholus designed course
Nice course, tough conditions in the wind and fast greens
1st time playing, good value for the price. Greens were "super fast". Putted and chipped over the greens several times. Day played there was gusting swirling winds although warm weather. Made the challenge even more so. Course in decent shape. Lightening fast greens were greatest challenge. A couple are under repair due physical damage. Greens had lots of footprints and some ball marks that affected path. Good course, will come back again
You leave happy that you played this course
The holes are straight forward. Greens are true and quick, The entire staff are there to make the experience painless.
Thank you for choosing Hammock Creek. I am sorry to hear that you were not able to complete your round and hope your knee is feeling better.
The “New World” of on-line tee times has a confusing relationship issue that complicated your experience at Hammock Creek. On that day you purchased your “Hot Deal” tee time directly from Golfnow and paid Golfnow for the tee time. You did not pay Hammock Creek for your tee time. That is why the course could not offer you a rain check for the green fee that was paid to Golfnow. I’m sorry that our staff was not able to satisfactorily explain this unusual circumstance to you.
Contact me at 772-220-2599 x1 or rfinch@presidentcc.com to discuss how Hammock Creek can resolve this matter to your satisfaction.
