hidden gem in the IE
What a great course! The views were incredible, and the course was in great condition. My son and I played the twilight with a 4:20 tee time and got in 14 holes before sunset at 6:30. I hesitate to recommend it...selfishly, because I want to keep it a secret. LOL....but seriously....it is a good, challenging course and in great shape...especially for a course in the IE with the heat we have been experiencing.
Hot Deal was worthless
As a golf pass member, I was extremely dissapointed with the greens. They had just been aerated, large holes, every green was compromised. When I book on teeoff, there was no alert that the course was aerated as you have with other courses. Which helps to make a decision to play. I would never have booked had I known the greens were punched. A waste of money to drive 100 miles and play on chinese checkers holes.
Back 9 due to Aeroration of Green
Due to Aeroration of front green, played Back 9 twice.
We were execited because 18th Par5, we get the when we are worned out at the end of day.
With big hope, we didn't play well and first 9, worst score that hit our handie already.
Since we are playing Back 9, there's no Snack Cart and had to go to club house / restaurant for drinks and others which took long time.
Other then those, staff was good as usual.
EPIC COURSE, BUT BE PREPARED FOR A LONG (5+ HR) ROUND
I've played this course several times: one during the week and the other times on the weekends.
The course mid-week is a great page of play, but expect at least a 5-hour round of playing on Saturday or Sunday. Although it is understandable that a difficult course can cause the pace of play to slow, a lack of consistent marshalling does not help with pace of play either.
Aside from the pace of play, the course is usually in solid condition from tee box to green with plenty of trouble off the fairways which demands solid tee shots and consistent distance control on approach shots if you hope to go low. The greens can be quick as well with undulations (especially on hole 15) that can put pressure on even a more skilled player. Not a bad idea to bring some extra balls if you're planning on playing here haha.
Pace of play.
Pace of play seems to be an issue everywhere now. Walked off the golf course at 16. 4 1/2 hours for 16 holes. Tee off at 6:20 AM.
Eagle Glen
The course was great. The only thing was that some or most of the tee boxes were closed hence the white tees were pretty much the same as the red tees, especially on the back nine. No wonder I broke 80. Should be at least a 5-7 stroke difference.
Enjoyed the round though.
Wet Muggy Sunday Round
Eagle Glen really feels like you are perched in an eagles nest at the top of the hill once you get off the freeway. The course is right and has a lot of challenging ravine gaps to hit over/across. Playing from the blues was a major challenge as someone who drives 260+ regularly I was still a mid iron into every hole. Pace of play was decent but not great. Group behind us kept hitting up on us as a result. Not ideal but a sub 5 hour round on a Sunday at this challenging of a course is a victory.
Great shape
Course is in excellent shape considering it’s the hottest month of the year. Always an enjoyable and challenging layout
Excellent
It’s been a while since I’ve seen EG in this nice of shape. Green we’re true, nice roll. Fairways were in great conditions. Some dry spots but nothing to complain about what so ever and finished in 4 hrs. Tee time 10.50 through hot deals. 33$ awesome deal and the course is in great shape, may play next week😂😂
Much better than I expected
Heard some bad things about this place but it far exceeded expectations. Nice course, but split fairways that require intelligent shot selection. Some dirt patches on fairways but everything else was near pristine. One piece of cartpath seems to have been affected by the recent storm but still traversable by Cart. Definitely will be coming back here
Very Good course
I have been playing Eagle Glen since it opened roughly 25 years ago. It is still a very good course. Yesterday's round was pretty smooth - a little slow for my liking 4:30 but we teed off late morning so to be expected. Greens were a bit slow, but if the greens could be rolled and mowed a little lower they could easily be what they once were. But it is August and it gets hot in Corona, so I understand the greens can't be fast. Rest of course conditions (Tee boxes, fairways, Sand Traps, rough) -- all very good, but not immaculate. Beverage cart was around frequently, restaurant is good, starter was very chatty. Overall - very good. Happy to play again.
Enjoyed Eagle Glen
I played the course for the first time as I was visiting on vacation. The course was in good shape and layout is very nice. The views of the surrounding mountains/hills were awesome. I played with some locals who gave me tips as we played the course. They had two beverage carts who came by three times during the round. Very good course amenities. The only negative was pace of play was slow at 4 hrs and 50 minutes. I enjoyed the course and would play it again.
