Hidden Valley Golf Club
About
The aptly named Hidden Valley Golf Club feels secluded set between two large hillsides, amongst carefully preserved boulder outcroppings, ravines, and an abundance of native flora and fauna. The challenging layout demands accuracy and it will also test your shot-making skills. Golfers should expect to utilize every club in their bag. The golf course features tight fairways lined with mature trees, tricky doglegs, and multi-tiered greens that can be difficult to read. The rolling terrain also promises difficult uphill and downhill lies. Bunkers are strategically placed throughout and there is water on a few holes. A windy day adds yet another formidable element to the challenging design. The diverse layout has a mix of difficult par 3s, reachable par 5s, and a few birdie opportunities. Hidden Valley Golf Club will definitely test your skills, but five sets of tees make the course more approachable to a wide range of skill levels.

Golfer Reviews
Good Experience This Time
Had an opportunity to play this course on a Sunday where there was heavy rain that lightened up by the time we finished the 4th hole.
The driving range for the course is essentially hitting into a hill that has yardage markers, but it does the job. The practice putting green is pretty spacious and the greens and is fairly reflective of how the greens during the round will play.
The staff is pretty chill but are extremely rigid on their policies. May not always result in the best customer service, but at the end of the day, they're just doing their job.
The course is easily one of my favorite layouts in California. There are plenty of photo worthy views on the course, especially the tee box on 13. The back tee box for the second hole is no longer accessible, so aside from that needing to be updated, everything else to the scorecard is accurate. They're in the middle of renovating their fairway bunkers, which used to be a detractor for the course; but I'm hoping that upgrade won't result in too steep of a change in green fees moving forward.
There are plenty of places on this course where you can lose your ball, so having some general control over your ball flight and shot patterns is a must. Once on the greens, there is no guaranteed two putts as the greens tend to roll on the much slower side (maybe between a 5-7) and are fairly bumpy.
Prior to this round, I've never had a round that took place in less than 5 hours. The heavy rain could have helped us finish just past 4 and 1/2 hours this time.
Overall, I would recommend this to a friend or anyone visiting the area.
Your course has 2 holes under construction. There was no warning that we were getting 16 holes rather than the standard 18.
Your salesman at check in was extremely rude saying that we didn’t need to put the news on our website
No discounts were given.
Horrible customer service!
Longest Round ever
Besides a 6 hour round in 102 degree weather it was fun.
Course Under Repair
4 some looking forward to play the course. We’ve always had a great time at this course. We had some hiccups. Many bunkers were under construction, pace of play added an hour, and then there’s the unfriendly customer service. Dude at the check in counter seemed bothered by 2 of us having a free round on our punch card. We spent $$ to have played 9 rounds and got to the freebie. What’s the beef sir? Then the marshal on 12 hanging around. Say hi or move along. There was no where to go. I hope this was just a fluke and next round there is better.
Under construction
I booked the course for a foursome. There was no warning that the course was under construction. Every sand trap was either under construction or not tended by course staff. They charged full price. They even charged full price with no warning of the course
Maintainance avoid for a few months
I play this course once a week love it but it’s under repair shortened holes to create 4 3 pars in a row . This caused 8 golf carts waiting in hole 5 . They should know this and spread out T Times until repairs are complete. 3 hours to do 9 holes starting at 9 am . They still charge full price even though you’re not getting a full course.
I would wait a few months until the repairs are complete. All the sand traps are under repair some are just mud . Avoid this for a while at least a couple months . After that book it.
Spectacular
Played Hidden Valley Golf Course yesterday and had a fantastic experience. The course was in great shape from tee to green—fairways were well maintained, greens were receptive, and you could tell the grounds crew takes a lot of pride in the course.
The layout is beautiful, challenging without being frustrating, and there are some really memorable holes and views throughout the round. Everything was well cared for and made for a great day of golf.
Definitely one of the better-conditioned courses I’ve played recently. I’ll absolutely be back. Highly recommend Hidden Valley!
Under Repair
With all the renovations going on the green fees should have been lowered for having to deal with all the bunkers under repair. But no it was full price.
Great views
6 star views with major elevation changes. Not too difficult but bring a few extra balls. Greens were kinda rough and bunkers were either being worked on or filled with uan unusable amount of sand. Once this course shores up their greens and bunkers id gove 5 stars! Hope to see that next year if im in town....again...views were amazing!
course in terrible shape. three temporary greens, other greens slow. no discount offered for having three temporary. greens. was not told that course was under construction when the tee time was made. Will not play here again until course is done with construction.
To much course
Hidden Valley is a true mountain golf course. I'm a decent golfer but I'm old and the severity of the slopes was to much for me.
Poor greens and bad carts
I played this for the first time. It is an extremely challenging course with tight fairways and a lot hills. In general the fairways and tee boxes were good. But there were two temporary greens. The other greens were soft, bumpy and a lot of ball marks. They were getting ready to punch the greens, so that maybe was the reason.
For the average golfer, I do not recommend.
Book with caution
The course is under renovation. Hole #2 green is located in the middle of the fairway, no green. Hole #3 tee box was 80 yards from the green. The course was muddy. Ground under repair markers everywhere. 75% of bunkers were hard packed dirt and mud.
All single players are required to share carts with strangers. The course was empty, but they still made us share a cart. When booking they do stipulate the sharing policy, but come on. No one in the pro shop mentioned any of this to me, so that’s why I’m sharing it with you. I would call first before booking to check on the course conditions.
Solid Course
There is a major project going on on holes 3 and 4 so they’re shortened to a pitch and putt par 3 which then goes to another par 3 so get ready to wait. We pulled up to the 3rd par 3 and had 3 groups in front of us waiting to hit. That then turned into a 5+ hour round. The bunkers on the entire course were like hitting off of clay. I know this is a great course and I will eventually be back but it won’t be until the remodel is done.
