The aptly named Hidden Valley Golf Club feels secluded set between two large hillsides, amongst carefully preserved boulder outcroppings, ravines, and an abundance of native flora and fauna. The challenging layout demands accuracy and it will also test your shot-making skills. Golfers should expect to utilize every club in their bag. The golf course features tight fairways lined with mature trees, tricky doglegs, and multi-tiered greens that can be difficult to read. The rolling terrain also promises difficult uphill and downhill lies. Bunkers are strategically placed throughout and there is water on a few holes. A windy day adds yet another formidable element to the challenging design. The diverse layout has a mix of difficult par 3s, reachable par 5s, and a few birdie opportunities. Hidden Valley Golf Club will definitely test your skills, but five sets of tees make the course more approachable to a wide range of skill levels.

Mowing the greens while playing??

I played yesterday with my son at Hidden Valley Golf Club.

We played the first hole without issue. The next hole, we could not locate the pin as the flag was pulled by the greens keepers who were trimming as we were playing. We stood there for 5 minutes as we waited for them to place the pin in. Not only was there debris over the greens, but they never turned their motors off so we were putting to the noise of an industrial lawnmower. We had the same experience for the next 3 holes…

I have never have had an experience like this in my 30+ years of playing.

Hidden Gem

Especially for the money, HV is one of the most challenging and fun courses in the area. Views are incredible and conditions are pretty great, although, the greens were a bit bumpy and slow. I love the layout of this course, except for the fact that it ends with a par 5, but that’s just my preference.

Not What I’m Used To

I’ve played here several times before, and I’m used to beautiful, tightly rolled greens, sandy bunkers, beautiful fairways and great views. This last time, it was less than acceptable. The greens were bumpy, hairy, and there wasn’t a single smooth putt all day. The sands traps were like hitting off decomposed granite. Fairways were nice, but that was about it. Really hope they get back to making this place one of the best course in the inland empire, because that wasn’t worth the $87.

Horrible Greens

Greens are trash. Super hairy and bumpy. Don’t roll true at all. Luck if your ball goes in. Expect a lot of 3 putts. Course layout is awesome but if you’re an actual golfer you won’t be happy with the greens they are bad.

Greens and Bunkers Need Help

They still have not fixed the greens. They aerated about a month ago but they are extremely slow and bumpy still. In addition they are adding more sand to the greens during the day. There bunkers have no soft sand just hardened surface. Not fun playing with horrible bunkers and greens. The layout is really nice and the fairway are green and plush. Please fix the greens.
