Cath Canyon Review
Pace of play was not managed by Marshall on site. Round took around 4.5 hours. Number 10 green is dead, several others in poor condition. Great old course just needs some management and care.
We played this course several years ago and liked it!
This was VERY disappointing !
We will not play it again .
Trash
This course has gone completely downhill very quickly in the past 2 years.
The rough is strewn with branches, leaves, palm fronds and various other impediments.
Doesn't anyone ever clean up this course?
The fairways were thin to bare with numerous GUR chalked off sections throughout the course.
It seems the workers time would've been better spent cleaning up the rough.
The greens were as hard as rock, especially #10. It hasn't been hot enough in Palm Springs for them to be burnt so i can only assume that someone is cutting them way too short.
And throughout all this as we are heading to the first tee we see the course superintendent on the driving range testing out the new taylor made clubs that were on display that day.
I had made two tee times for later in the week to bring some friends on the course...I cancelled both.
Just too embarrassed .
Great Course for Value
Back nine is way prettier and we thought easier.
We enjoyed for the price we paid and would go back.
Seen better days
What a disappointment, after seeing the pictures. First off "we ran out of range balls, so you can't warm up". And the poor condition of the tees, fairways, greens is quite remarkable. Bunkers have mud in them, tee boxes aren't level and very little grass. The pin placements were very difficult, which is not a bad thing if the course was in nice shape. But it adds insult to injury if you're trying to hit from a crappy lie and the greens are super hard and fast, to have the pin near the apron on a slope. There are so many nice places to play in this area, don't waste your time here.
I played this course on March 5 2023. It’s what we call a goat ranch in Canada. Anybody thinking of playing this course, Don’t
What a disappointment to the Palm Springs golf experience!
This place is inexpensive for good reason! The course is in bad disrepair. How can there be so much bald, missing and brown grass in the middle of winter? Fences falling down, poor signage, cart paths that go "this way and that" without direction. An overall disappointing "ghetto course" experience. If it wasn't for the pace of play (2 hours 55 minutes) and the excellent friendly staff and Bloody Mary's (the best ever at Jax course bar) I would have given it 1 star all the way around. I won't ever play here again, despite the cheap greens fees! Pay $20-50 more and go play somewhere else!
