Date Palm Country Club
About
Nestled in Coachella Valley, Date Palm Country Club sits at the base of the San Jacinto and Santa Rosa mountain ranges, providing nearly every hole on the golf course with a stunning view. The course is the centerpiece of a popular retirement community near Palm Springs, a location that enjoys nice weather year-round and is just 20 minutes from shopping, dining, and museums. The layout is on the shorter side, but it still has some challenging holes. The golf course demands accuracy with every contour of the rolling terrain and you'll be put to the test even further when maneuvering the small greens and narrow fairways. The bunkering is minimal but strategic at Date Palm C.C., and the occasional water hazard also comes into play. In addition to the golf course, there is a practice putting green.

My tee shot on the second hole. It was nice to get a birdie early. Photo submitted by Napawillie on 03/30/2015
Great 9 hole course
Course is good shape and there are a fairly large number of big trees which add to the challenge. Corbin at the desk is very helpful. Both times we’ve played there as a twosome we have been able to start earlier than our booked time. Two par 5’s, four 4’s and three 3’s.
Executive Fun
Hidden in a trailer park is a par 58 course with flat greens and a fun little layout. Unfortunately the Front nine was closed for tree trimming. Golfnow never mentioned this.. so we played nine uninspiring holes in an hour. Then left. Course conditions are decent , people friendly.
We didn’t know until we arrived at golf course that the front nine was closed for maintenance. We were able to go out on back nine right away but when we came around to play the back nine a second time, we had to wait as four groups were waiting. This made the second time around the back nine over twice as long as the first time around.
Played many times
Great course for me as a senior. Still challenging for me and distances suited my skill level now. Only complaint would be conditions of sand traps. Almost muddy at times and seldom groomed it seems.
Diamond in the rough.
An enjoyable golf experience except for the pace of play. Would still return to play.
Cheap, low-end golf
If you’re looking for inexpensive golf in the Palm Springs area, this course will do—but you get what you pay for. There are a lot of par 3s and no par 5s. The layout is a bit awkward, and it’s situated in the middle of a mobile home park. The staff wasn’t especially friendly, and the clubhouse—if you can call it that—doesn’t have much to offer.
That said, the course was well maintained from the tee boxes to the greens. Avid golfers will probably want to choose a better course in the area, but Date Palm is a decent option for beginners and intermediate players.
A lot of fun
This course is a great option for golfer who prefer a shorter course. This one has only 4 par four’s—the rest are par three’s. Nice that there are 18 holes. Well maintained. staff is terrific.
Excellent Day of Golf
The course was pleasantly well maintained. It was a leisurely game of golf and the manager was helpful and gracious. We will definitely return.
Great executive course
Course is in great shape. Greens are good and run true. Several hazards and some narrow fairways. Worth playing if you are in the area.
I love Date Palm
Excellent short course for Sunday morning, Great pace of play, leisurely 2.5 hrs for 18 holes. Green fairways, smooth putting Greens, enough water and sand to tear accuracy. Friendly staff, particularly Charles. Thanks Date Palm. I will be back,
