Hidden Valley Golf Club
About
The aptly named Hidden Valley Golf Club feels secluded set between two large hillsides, amongst carefully preserved boulder outcroppings, ravines, and an abundance of native flora and fauna. The challenging layout demands accuracy and it will also test your shot-making skills. Golfers should expect to utilize every club in their bag. The golf course features tight fairways lined with mature trees, tricky doglegs, and multi-tiered greens that can be difficult to read. The rolling terrain also promises difficult uphill and downhill lies. Bunkers are strategically placed throughout and there is water on a few holes. A windy day adds yet another formidable element to the challenging design. The diverse layout has a mix of difficult par 3s, reachable par 5s, and a few birdie opportunities. Hidden Valley Golf Club will definitely test your skills, but five sets of tees make the course more approachable to a wide range of skill levels.

Mountain views
Great scenic views in all directions. Was impressed with the layout. Front 9 at a lower elevation and back 9 at the higher elevation. Best view is from the 15th hole tee boxes. I will be coming back.
Course is not in the best condition
First off, this course is one of the most beautiful places you will play. That being said, the greens are diseased and if you end up in a bunker, you might as well be hitting off the cart path. Definitely not worth the money.
Slow
This course is a challenge and in decent co b dition. For a Friday the morning tee times were not filled. This is one of the courses that thi k they are saving money by not accepting singles. They are loosing money.. they say singels dont show a lot.. if thats the case why are they not charging the no s b ows. No money lost.
There is a red flag cart that drives around doing nothing about slow play. The group in front of us had almost 2 holes open in front of them. The ranger didnt e en take issue. So many courses, not just hidden valley, coukd give a hoot.
Incredible views, excellent conditions
First time playing this Course and I think I'll be playing it a lot more from now on. The views are amazing and the course conditions are perfect. Pace of play was about 4 hours, we stopped for drinks and really took our time. This course has 2 or 3 blind shots if you can't get at least 240 off the tee and 3 or 4 carries of at least 180 yards from the blue tees. The course is challenging, has very little trees, not a lot of shade is to be found so play early in the summer months as the I.E. can get about 15 to 20 degrees hotter than the coast. Hidden Valley has about 7 signature holes which is about 5 or 6 more than most. Staff is friendly too.
Walking this course in the summer is not advisable for anyone.
Fun Course
Greens and fairways were in great shape. Pace of play was ok…about 4 1/2 hour round.
Slow would only pay under $50 to play here
Is one of the slowest rounds you’ll ever play. There is no marshals to sped up pace either. Greens are slow for how much you have to pay on the weekends and layout and making carts go 2-5 mph downhill just adds to the longest round you’ll play in greater Los Angeles area
Making up their own prices
So this not the first time I played at this course but this might be my last. I ordered some drinks at the bar and the prices seem to be fair, I guess but with the cart girl/women things changed. We ordered two drinks that came out to $48 dollars, then the price changed to $38 when asked. We paid $100 for the round and got hosed on the drinks. Might be the last time I play at this course.
Great course
Reasonable price for the course. Pro shop staff are nice but need to remember they’re in customer service. Having a background in elite hospitality you would expect a little more effort and curtesy from such a venue. Please don’t be discussing private work issues and compliants in front of guests. Please acknowledge and not ignore when a guest pays $94 for the round proceeds to thank you for assisting with their check-in. It’s the smalls things that a make a huge difference
Marshalls are grumpy and need a bit more interpersonal training. We kept pace of play and we’re always on the same hole as the group ahead of us. Doing our part to help keep pace for the groups behind. Marshalls kept asking us to play faster and short of hitting up on the group, we couldn’t be any closer. We had longer hitters but the Marshalls didn’t seem to notice or care. Frustrating!
