Perdido Bay Golf Club has hosted several notable players including Jack Nicklaus, Tom Kite, and Curtis Strange. It also formerly served as the site to the Pensacola Open for a decade-long stretch and while it may not be host anymore it still preserves its integrity as a challenging, championship course. The golf course is long and narrow, rewarding both distance and accuracy. Although it is mostly flat there is some strategic mounding that causes tricky lies throughout. Perdido Bay Golf Club's fairways are flanked by multiple cuts of rough and the greens are large and undulating. Many of the greens, as well as the tees, are also elevated. In addition to the golf course, there are also extensive practice facilities that include a large driving range, putting green, chipping green, and greenside and fairway bunkers.

Solid Choice

This was the only round of golf I played while in the area. It was about what I expected. There are some very challenging holes and some others that are pretty straight forward. Greens were on the slower side and soft. Fairways were fast and dry, starting to get brown due to the hot summer. A few tee boxes were struggling, sandy with very little grass. I’d play it again. Staff was very friendly and eager to help talk to you about the course.

Great course, horrible management

Do not bring the elderly or beginner level players, made us skip a hole for being behind on pace, track by the carts that started 15 minutes before we started the round. We were told we were 3 holes behind when we skipped and the group was walking off the green the second we got to the tee box. Beautiful course but would recommend courses like craft teams in foley or peninsula on fort Morgan, they are both well worth drive and much better managed course than this course. I will never be back and will be going out of my way to let everyone I play in tournament golf with the same thing as this review.

Try again maybe?

We enjoyed the course. Had an early afternoon tee time. The course is in good shape. The layout is good. Some challenging but fair holes.

The pace of play was super slow, especially on the back nine. We waited quite a while on every shot. By the time that we got to the 17th tee there was a group on the green and two groups on the tee waiting. While we waited the group behind us came to the tee. There were FIVE groups on one par three hole. Ridiculous!! There was also a Marshall on duty.

Also, the course does not allow outside coolers or drinks. The beverage cart met us on the 4th hole and we never saw it again.

Would like to try the course again, but would hope that the experience would be a little better.

Fun Day !

We are on vacation and picked Perdido as one of the courses to play. ( 3 of us ). Everything went great from checking in to returning the carts. The course had a fun layout - few holes had blind junk you would not know unless you played there several times, but no biggie. I would suggest study the hole layouts on the golf cart monitors before hitting. Oh yeah, carts were amazing.. I’m 65 and play from the whites ( shot an 86 ). Good day of golf for me… And the air show wasn’t bad either. Air Force base close by, we got to see 20 plus jet maneuvers during the day. That was fun in itself. Particulars /. Course of play was ok for being book solid with 4 somes ( 4 hrs ). Went by fast. Fairways were good. Greens were good shape, soft at 8am from watering. I will definitely play again.

Greens were punched - gave us half off - we still liked it better than Kiva Dunes

My buddies and I just returned home from our annual beach/golf trip. We played Kiva Dunes, Peninsula, GlenLakes and Perdido Bay. Peninsula is at the top of that list. We found the back 9 pin positions at Kiva dunes to be incredibly difficult. When we arrived at Perdido Bay we were advised the greens had just been punched that week. There was no punched green alert on GolfNow. They gave us half off. The staff here are AWESOME!!! Everyone we encountered throughout the day was great. The marshal actually was out on the course hurrying slow groups along. The greens were slow but rolled true. This was the only course we played that had GPS and Bluetooth speakers built into the carts. We found the GPS to be very accurate. We decided we would put Kiva on the back burner in the future and always play Peninsula and Perdido Bay. Will probably play Craft Farms and Lost Key next year as well.

Perfect course

Course and practice facility was in perfect condition. The staff was polite and friendly helping me understand course layout. Even though I teed off around noon and the tee times were completely booked I only waited on 1 or 2 shots throughout the round.

Good course

Good layout. Not as tight as a lot of Gulf Coast courses.
