Perdido Bay Golf Club
About
Perdido Bay Golf Club has hosted several notable players including Jack Nicklaus, Tom Kite, and Curtis Strange. It also formerly served as the site to the Pensacola Open for a decade-long stretch and while it may not be host anymore it still preserves its integrity as a challenging, championship course. The golf course is long and narrow, rewarding both distance and accuracy. Although it is mostly flat there is some strategic mounding that causes tricky lies throughout. Perdido Bay Golf Club's fairways are flanked by multiple cuts of rough and the greens are large and undulating. Many of the greens, as well as the tees, are also elevated. In addition to the golf course, there are also extensive practice facilities that include a large driving range, putting green, chipping green, and greenside and fairway bunkers.

Pretty Nice Perido Bay
Winter conditions prevail but course is very playable and greens are running nice and true. Sand bunkers were a little wet due to recent rain.
Fun course
Fun mid level course in good shape and very friendly staff.
Good value
Always enjoy playing this course. Lots of variety in the hole layouts. My only gripe is the greens are really slow compared to other surrounding courses.
Always a good value
Staff was friendly and helpful, have about 5 of the white tee boxes under construction. Pace of play was good, finished in 3.5 hours.
Member for 4 years but no more
I’ve been a member at Perdido Bay country club for four years now and this year I will not be renewing due to the bait and switch membership protocol that Paul Slavin has implemented where he will take your money for an annual membership and then he will spend that next year changing the rules and making it near impossible to use the membership. I am one of at least six members that have decided to leave due to an extremely rude and arrogant letter that Paul Slavin the minority owner and greenskeeper sent out to all of the members. People should know that this is not a golf course. It’s run like a grumpy old man’s lawn and he will charge you to get on his lawn and then tell you to get off his lawn. It is the strangest most perplexing thing you will ever deal with if you’ve ever had to deal with Paul. I own and run three small businesses in the Perdido Key area and as a businessman I cannot comprehend why this guy does the things he does. In the last four years I have spent nearly $35,000 with Paul’s business. My business advertised in his course guide I sponsored multiple golf tournaments over the years and still he treats me and others terribly !
I would gladly pay three times the membership fees if Paul would just simply cut the grass and have nothing to do with the daily operations unfortunately, he’s the best and worst thing that ever happened to that place. He’s an amazing greenskeeper, but has terrible customer service, and bedside manner, along with conducting himself and deceptive practices on the regular, and apparently he thinks none of the rules apply to him.
A good option in the Orange Beach area
We have our favorites when visiting Orange Beach, but we like to try a different course now and then, and this trip we decided to try Perdido Bay (due in no small part to the GN hot deal).
Course was not busy at all at mid-day on Dec 20, which was a good thing because we got paired up with a fun twosome from Pensacola and all four of us struggled to keep the ball in play from time to time, so the round took longer than it should have.
Layout is not super tight, but there are lots of opportunities to get in trouble with stray shots (left, right, short, or long), and we hadn't played in over a month so we found some of that trouble.
Greens rolled well, they were firm but they held full shots and long pitch shots. Fairways were spotty but playable. They were in the process of overseeding the tees so some markers were moved up and others were moved back, making the course play a good bit differently than what was shown on the card.
Staff was friendly, and the GPS on the carts was useful enough that I rarely had to get out the laser.
This didn't jump up onto our short list, but all in all, it's a good course to play, especially with a hot deal.
Not right now
Staff are not a fans of Golf Now purchasers. Crammed 4 of us in a slot despite no one teeing off before or after. Greens were 90%, but the fairways have been neglected and were like hitting off the interstate. The range was also closed which they didn't bother to mention on Golf Now. And, the tee boxes were under repair so we were back and forth with yardages all day. I'll wait until Spring to give it another try. Sad. Always been my favorite in Perdido Key area.
old school Jewel
Just walked into a great lil course wow
Great layout kind of open but laid out super cool. Apparently it was once a big time course based on all the pics in the bar. Anyway par 5 s were a blast, and it had two of the coolest, toughest par 4's i've ever seen. Bonus we played with great locals who were great hosts and had some game!
Drive down here and play it, the greens are true and fast. Watch out for some sneaky water hazards that edge out into a couple of fairways -ouch!
Enjoy!!
