Perdido Bay Golf Club
About
Perdido Bay Golf Club has hosted several notable players including Jack Nicklaus, Tom Kite, and Curtis Strange. It also formerly served as the site to the Pensacola Open for a decade-long stretch and while it may not be host anymore it still preserves its integrity as a challenging, championship course. The golf course is long and narrow, rewarding both distance and accuracy. Although it is mostly flat there is some strategic mounding that causes tricky lies throughout. Perdido Bay Golf Club's fairways are flanked by multiple cuts of rough and the greens are large and undulating. Many of the greens, as well as the tees, are also elevated. In addition to the golf course, there are also extensive practice facilities that include a large driving range, putting green, chipping green, and greenside and fairway bunkers.

Great Time
The course was in great shape we had a great time!
Bait & Switch on fees
Watch out...bait and switch on their rates! Website shows a $49 rate beginning at 12:00, we booked 12:10 on the phone, show up and we are told it is $60, until 2:00! Told the pro shop person that is not what is on the website, he said "I know", but that rate starts at 2:00! So we paid and asked for the included range balls...don't have any he said, should be on the range...but NOT! Went back to the pro shop and asked again, don't have any he reported, so go back to the range and note people coming out of the pro shop with a bag of range balls! Went to the bathroom, and noted one commode plugged up with "a deposit"...still there after our 4 hour round! Also, a great GPS system, but was not updated for the current pin positions. Course is a great layout, great condition, but pro shop personnel could be much more courteous and have the ability to honor rates they know are on their website! Not going back withiut getting a rate and name when making a t time!
My Review of Perdido Bay Golf Club
Looked good. Very green. Good layout with much water and many sand traps. One bunker on the course was firm. Soft ground near some greens after much rain recently. 2 balls were embedded by 2 greens. Greens were slow. Pace of play was slow. Very crowded on the course. Not very fun. People on the course were nice and friendly. Good, large practice putting green. An area where I could practice chipping, pitching, and sand shots was near the practice putting green. Long driving range, and I was able to hit balls on the range late after my round. Range balls cost extra. Good wildlife. Geese, deer, turtles.
Fun course
Greens were nice as well as the fairways. Typical resort, Florida style course. Good value for money.
Course was ok! Staff was not friendly at all!
Food and beverage staff was very friendly. The head pro Dan was not friendly at all he has a major attitude problem and in my opinion should not be in the hospitality business at all! Some people have it and he does not!
Perdido bay
Overall this course was pretty good. Back nine plays a lot tougher than front and a lot longer. Fairways are generous but if you miss then you are usually in water. Greens were all in good shape. Not too slow not too fast. Fairways all had plenty grass. Bunkers were a little hairy with grass on edges but not bad. Went in afternoon for $33. Would definitely play again for this price. Well worth it. Hard to get nicer course for price.
Good course, great staff
The course was is good shape, greens were excellent but bunkers were rough. Fairways were amazing when i found them. Staff was very friendly, and went above and beyond. Course was almost empty when i started and the ranger chatted me up and gave tips for 30 minutes! If you are in the area don't miss a chance to play!!!
Nice Course!
The course was in good condition and the staff was very friendly. I will go back to play another round soon.
my experience
Many hidden water hazards . You would need to play here a few times to know where the hazards are before you would score well .
The greens were in great shape but challenging .
GREAT COURSE!
Coming from the West Coast, this one was a very nice course. Didn't get to see any alligators but saw lots of turtles; it's fairly moderate, has great views, clean and easy to get around. I'll definitely come back! Keep up the good work!
Fees
When we got to the golf course to sign in we were told the golf course rate would have been the same as Golfnow and there was no need for us to pay a booking fee. They also said they were thinking of discontinuing there association with Golfnow
Skill level for all
This course has a skills challenge for any level. From T to green is fair. Green to cup is HARD making if fun.
Using Golf Now did save $, but I would have skipped play due to the cold weather had I not been concerned about loosing my $. I know if it is rained out you don't have to pay but what if it is to cold?
Overall I will use Golf Now again.
Good beginner course
Pretty, easy, friendly, well laid out
No see ums are fierce on practice putting greens
Ignorant bartenders
Excellent Golf Course
An interesting course to play with good greens and decent well kept course conditions. Staff our friendly and courteous and pace of play was good. Recommended to all levels of golfers.
What a nice course.
I love this course. Staff is very friendly. Course is in excellent shape even considering it is the middle of winter. Each hole offers a challenge and you have to think about the approach to each hole. I am here until mid March and hope to play it often.
Not a PGA course
Had great expectations when I read that the Pensacola Open was played on this course. It wasn't a very interesting course and didn't have any great scenery. Cost too much. Have played nicer courses for less. Was in good shape though considering the winter weather.
Excellent Course
What a great course with varying challenges! Some holes were very straight-forward, while others required strategy to score well. The course was in great winter playing condition and the staff was great; very friendly and helpful!
Course is in great shape but staff is horrible!
I was sent out by myself and decided to skip a few holes since the slow groups wouldn't allow me through. First got harassed by maintenance then the so-called Pro came out to remind me not to rush maintenance, really? It was approaching 9:30 so why is maintenance still getting the front 9 ready? I guess I won't be patronizing this course anytime soon.
good test of skill
Course in good shape, t boxes recently seeded...
Fair but challenging shots throughout your bag. Accuracey required with water in play. Good day out.
