The Savannahs Golf Course
About
Challenge the Savannahs. On the windward side of Merritt island lies one of the most unique golf courses on Florida's Space Coast. The 6,450 yard Gordon G. Lewis design winds through majestic hardwood forests, natural wetlands, and scenic lakes to reveal protected, undulated greens. Nine holes are framed by a natural savannah conservation area, bordered by hammocks with a high canopy of trees and coastal flatwoods. Water, in the form of natural wetlands and manmade lakes, comes into play on thirteen holes. The course boasts several unforgettable holes, such as the 525-yard, par 5 Signature 7th, regarded as one of the most challenging holes in Central Florida. This beautifully tight, typically southern course features six sets of tees, making play ideal for beginners and pros. The back tees are demanding even for the best of the best, while our new “Family Tees” are playable by anyone who wants to tee up. Prepare for your round by warming up on our practice facilities that include: unique aqua range, chipping and bunker area, and full-sized practice putting green. Look around during your visit, and you will notice nature's splendor on display. Our preserve features many water birds, birds of prey, reptiles, and low country mammals that make the savannahs their home. The fairways additionally offer a great view of the nearby Cape Canaveral rocket launches. Our southern plantation styled Clubhouse is a great place to start and end your day at The Savannahs. Inside you will find a golf shop, plus a bar and grill with great food and hospitality to match. Or, wander outside to the veranda overlooking the aqua range and golf course to catch the sunset.

First tee on a beautiful Florida winter's day on Merritt Island Photo submitted by sttcapt on 02/13/2017
Good value.
We had looked at the course a few years ago and decided to play it next time we were in the area. We were pleased we could get a good tee time, the weather cooperated, and all went well.
We'll be back!
Funky Layout
Problem with this course is that some holes are short and some are target golf and long. This holds up play. Played on a Friday and it was foursome after foursome. Busy place. Lots of water and doglegs. Probably very nice in summer.
Tough course with beautiful surroundings
If you are up for the challenge The Savannah’s Club is worth taking a swing at. Plenty of water carries. Sharp doglegs, bunkers and unforgiving out of bounds add to the challenge. Course is in good not great shape. Flags posted to designate hidden water hazards - and there are plenty. Not a long course - but lots of twists and turns to keep you guessing. Staff was great. Carts were comfy and GPS really came in handy.
Congratulations on the improvement of the course over the past few months. Get the invasive plant out of the 7th green and you will have success
Fun Day & Fine Course!
Wonderful afternoon and round at The Savannahs. Got a few extra steps on my step counter due to the recent rains but - the course dried out nicely as the day progressed.
The new cart technology was very helpful to guide you through where you could drive and when you needed to use cart path only rules.
As always, the staff was both friendly and helpful!
The Savanahs Golf Course
Solid local course with above average friendliness. New carts, decent price, and good course layout. However, the conditions have seen better days. Few putting greens will have you not caring about making or missing, too much obstruction for a smooth roll.
$20 course at best
I have played this course for many years. It has had it's ups and downs over those years. It seems we are in a down year. The course is in pretty poor shape. Some of the greens are ok and some are covered in weeds. the course would be fine if it was a $20 course, at $36 for a hot deal, it's a no deal for our group. The pace is slow as most of the players are not very good and don't understand if you hit it 150 yds off the tee, you don't have to wait at 320yds out on the par 5 for your next shot. We waited on every shot from the first too to the last shot on 18. We tried to make the best of it but even trying to get a snack at the turn was impossible. The snack bar was closed so we went into the bar/restaurant area to grab a hot dog and soda. We were told that a group outing just sat down after their round and we would have to wait until the entire group 25-30 people were waited on before they could give us a couple hot dogs. So we said, just give us a couple sodas and were told we would still have to wait or just go back out and get them from the cart girl. I've never played anywhere that people at the turn had to wait for everyone sitting down for lunch to get a soda? Maybe this is something new to golf. We went back out and finished our round, but we won't be coming back and will let everyone we know not to waste their time. Next time it's the only option we have, I'll stay home before I go back to this course. There were 2 good things about the course, the cart girl was great and they had nice carts. If those are your priorities have a great time here.
Wildlife
If you want to see lots of gators and birds go here..The greens were good, tee boxes were a little beaten up fairways were ok for being Bermuda and the start of winter.Lots of water on the front 9 and make sure you lay up to the correct distance or you will you ball into water.
Will make this a stop when done here.
