The Savannahs Golf Course
About
Challenge the Savannahs. On the windward side of Merritt island lies one of the most unique golf courses on Florida's Space Coast. The 6,450 yard Gordon G. Lewis design winds through majestic hardwood forests, natural wetlands, and scenic lakes to reveal protected, undulated greens. Nine holes are framed by a natural savannah conservation area, bordered by hammocks with a high canopy of trees and coastal flatwoods. Water, in the form of natural wetlands and manmade lakes, comes into play on thirteen holes. The course boasts several unforgettable holes, such as the 525-yard, par 5 Signature 7th, regarded as one of the most challenging holes in Central Florida. This beautifully tight, typically southern course features six sets of tees, making play ideal for beginners and pros. The back tees are demanding even for the best of the best, while our new “Family Tees” are playable by anyone who wants to tee up. Prepare for your round by warming up on our practice facilities that include: unique aqua range, chipping and bunker area, and full-sized practice putting green. Look around during your visit, and you will notice nature's splendor on display. Our preserve features many water birds, birds of prey, reptiles, and low country mammals that make the savannahs their home. The fairways additionally offer a great view of the nearby Cape Canaveral rocket launches. Our southern plantation styled Clubhouse is a great place to start and end your day at The Savannahs. Inside you will find a golf shop, plus a bar and grill with great food and hospitality to match. Or, wander outside to the veranda overlooking the aqua range and golf course to catch the sunset.

Becoming one of my favorite courses
This is becoming one of my favorite courses. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It's not a long course BUT it makes you use your whole bag of clubs and plan your shots accordingly.
Great Value & Great BBQ!
The course was in good shape and the greens were rolling true. As always, a very challenging course avoiding the water and playing to the proper places to allow for your next shot. A nice bonus at the end of a weekend round, some great BBQ in the 19th hole!
Savannahs
Fun course, need to be accurate.
Staff are friendly and helpful.
BBQ in the clubhouse is amazing.
Course has been improved and it's in very good condition
Course is in very good condition. Keep up the good work! If there's any money left in the kitty, repair the cement cart paths
They are very hard on your back. Many have broken pieces that are raised up making for hard rides
. Otherwise it is a pleasure to play the course. One thing more, please correct the drains on the fairways, one is a foot deep, if you hit with a cart, it could cause an accident.
We had a good time here.
It was our first time here. We enjoyed our round there. It was in good shape considering a Tropical storm just rolled through there recently. The staff there was friendly and helpful. They have earned new coustomers with us and will definely return soon. Thanks
WOW
What a TREMENDOUS turnaround! I played this course over a year and a half ago, and it was in terrible shape. Dead greens, terrible fairways, over grown/dead tee boxes. It looked as the course was going under.
The tee boxes have been resodded, the fairways are lush and soft, and the greens have come such a long way. There’s little to no dead spots on this course, absolutely none on the greens. The greens are very true to there roll, they are just a a tad slow due to the regrowing of them, but they are much softer and not firm. I was able to check the ball several times. The new head pro has brought in an entirely new team and money/hardwork/know-how have really done a number on this course in a positive way. Really the only downside to this place, if you even want to call it a negative is the green speed. It varies from about 9-10, but again they are very pure and roll very true. Come March of 22, this place will be the hottest course in the area when the greens are rolling a 12.
The pace of play was awesome and we played in about 3.5 hours even after matching with a single for a threesome at 9:40 on a Sunday. Someone did jump in front of us on the back on 10, but we weren’t really held up and they let us through after 3 holes. I absolutely recommend this course. It’s worth more than the $26-36 you’ll pay.
Try the bbq smoked on site after the round!
Great course for the money
Played on a Saturday so busy. Course in pretty good shape even after rain. Tough first time as some of the water and hazards are hidden. Overall very enjoyable and will be back.
Course conditions
Course has been improved, money does wonders. Needs to have more water to drink, cement cart paths need work, and not a good idea to have to step over ropes to get to the tee box. They even have flags marking off the water areas in the fairways. Keep up the good work!
.
Wet Cart Path only
Such a nice course. Unfortunately it was cart path only so the round took almost 5 hours. Some fairways were acceptable by cart, which would have helped pace of
Play.
Superb Island Golf
This is a fantastic course and should be on everyones list if in the area. Staff very friendly from the pro shop to the starter who allowed us an early start as a two-ball to get ahead of a foursome. There are some lovely holes with plenty of water to keep you concentrated though there are only a few holes with forced carries. Loved the 18th hole though will need to try to get my par next time I visit - hopefully sometime soon!!
Awesome Course
I drove from Orlando to play at Savannahs and was not disappointed
The course was empty (it was a Wednesday mid morning) and I played as a single so flew around !!
The course was in great condition and has an interesting layout. If you have never played there before (like me) you need to get the course layout booklet. There are a number of holes where you need to know the distance to water that corses the fairways
I liked this as it made yoh think and it was not always driver on the par 4s
I will be back if I see a great deal again
Good value for the money
Decent course. Slow greens but smooth. A lot of water, especially on the front 9. Cool vibe with the music on the range. Staff was friendly. Good value for the money overall.
Great Course
Fun course to play and a good challenge. Scenery is great, get to see Gators up close. Close to the beach and NASA. Big launch coming up Friday, Thinking about going back and watching Launch while I play. Staff is awesome and great bar. For drinks. Highly recommend.
Great Service
Great all around service from the time you walk in until the time you walk out. Great day on the course
