Challenge the Savannahs. On the windward side of Merritt island lies one of the most unique golf courses on Florida's Space Coast. The 6,450 yard Gordon G. Lewis design winds through majestic hardwood forests, natural wetlands, and scenic lakes to reveal protected, undulated greens. Nine holes are framed by a natural savannah conservation area, bordered by hammocks with a high canopy of trees and coastal flatwoods. Water, in the form of natural wetlands and manmade lakes, comes into play on thirteen holes. The course boasts several unforgettable holes, such as the 525-yard, par 5 Signature 7th, regarded as one of the most challenging holes in Central Florida. This beautifully tight, typically southern course features six sets of tees, making play ideal for beginners and pros. The back tees are demanding even for the best of the best, while our new “Family Tees” are playable by anyone who wants to tee up. Prepare for your round by warming up on our practice facilities that include: unique aqua range, chipping and bunker area, and full-sized practice putting green. Look around during your visit, and you will notice nature's splendor on display. Our preserve features many water birds, birds of prey, reptiles, and low country mammals that make the savannahs their home. The fairways additionally offer a great view of the nearby Cape Canaveral rocket launches. Our southern plantation styled Clubhouse is a great place to start and end your day at The Savannahs. Inside you will find a golf shop, plus a bar and grill with great food and hospitality to match. Or, wander outside to the veranda overlooking the aqua range and golf course to catch the sunset.

Slow play

Not sure if they over- booked or play is just slow here. Only able to get in 16 holes. There were 4 groups on the 18th holes- which was our 9th hole that day

Hidden Gem

Been in area for about a month now. Played 6-7 different $40-$60 courses. Savannahs is my favorite by far. Great staff!! Course in a beautiful wildlife type habitat. Even has some live Oak trees lining some fairways. Good layout, with enough challenging shots, to keep your game honest. Greens were very good for this price range. Even found enough grass in some fairways, to have a decent iron lie, no easy task in Florida at this price range. By best golf experience in Florida since I arrived on Jan. 1st. Will return here many times before I head north end of March.

Fun to play

Met friends to play. Weather was windy which made play challenging. It has a nice layout. A LOT of water but carefully placed shots can avoid. We agreed it was a good bang for our bucks and would play there again.

Good value

Played this course for the first time. Met some friends and this place was midway between. The course was a great value. It was nicely laid out. While there is a lot of water it doesn't always come into play. The facilities were good; lite concession. Staff very courteous and helpful. We agreed we would play there again. Local knowledge is helpful.

Nice course for the value

Everything great except they loaded the course. Waited every shot on the second nine we played and it was not just one group ahead of us

Greens are thin and patchy

Overall the course is in okay shape. Greens and tee boxes were a little rough. Muddy in some spots. Challenging layout, especially on the front. Pace of play was good. 4 hour round for a 10am tee time. Would play again for the right price.
