Challenge the Savannahs. On the windward side of Merritt island lies one of the most unique golf courses on Florida's Space Coast. The 6,450 yard Gordon G. Lewis design winds through majestic hardwood forests, natural wetlands, and scenic lakes to reveal protected, undulated greens. Nine holes are framed by a natural savannah conservation area, bordered by hammocks with a high canopy of trees and coastal flatwoods. Water, in the form of natural wetlands and manmade lakes, comes into play on thirteen holes. The course boasts several unforgettable holes, such as the 525-yard, par 5 Signature 7th, regarded as one of the most challenging holes in Central Florida. This beautifully tight, typically southern course features six sets of tees, making play ideal for beginners and pros. The back tees are demanding even for the best of the best, while our new “Family Tees” are playable by anyone who wants to tee up. Prepare for your round by warming up on our practice facilities that include: unique aqua range, chipping and bunker area, and full-sized practice putting green. Look around during your visit, and you will notice nature's splendor on display. Our preserve features many water birds, birds of prey, reptiles, and low country mammals that make the savannahs their home. The fairways additionally offer a great view of the nearby Cape Canaveral rocket launches. Our southern plantation styled Clubhouse is a great place to start and end your day at The Savannahs. Inside you will find a golf shop, plus a bar and grill with great food and hospitality to match. Or, wander outside to the veranda overlooking the aqua range and golf course to catch the sunset.

Off - course holding Savanahs back

Front desk computer problems forced me into a cash transaction (rather than credit card as was my intention) / not the first time. Getting s coffee or a sandwich is impossible here. Saying that, Savanahs is a challenging course and greens were good for the time of year. ‘Speedy’ is a well organized starter and the range is excellent.

Not a bad track if it had some funding

2nd time I’ve played here in a year. You gotta make straight shots and leave the driver in the bag. A lot of 3 wood and irons off the tee. Challenging and fair layout. Conditions were dry but good for the money. If it had more money I could see the potential. The few people in in the shop and starter got me out with very friendly and expediant service.

A diamond in the rough...if done right, this could be a great community venue focal point. The snack bar should be made to accommodate private parties and member functions. Rates could be raised 10$-15$ which wouldn’t diminish play,in my opinion.

Water water everywhere!

Can’t remember losing this many balls in one day! You really need the floating range balls they have here...

Some of the holes have water that you don’t readily see so pay attention to the map before you play the hole!

The course is in relatively poor shape compared to others in the area, but the greens are receptive to good shots.

Good golf will be rewarded but misses punished severely. The layout is certainly decent but not very scenic.

You get a muni neglected feel playing here, but it’s inexpensive.

We went to see the rocket launch while enjoying golf, and it a pretty decent spot to get a view of that. Overall, not too bad.

It appears from the reviews the staff is working hard to bring this course up a couple of notches. Looks like the bar area is under construction or has been for some time. Still some rough Fairway areas and spots on a couple greens. The golf now Hot Deal is definitely the way to go. Great value. Pace of play was excellent. Overall would definitely play again.
