Bear Creek Golf Club - West Course

We were warned that due to some weather events we'd had in the area in the previous few weeks that parts of the course had been under water. I was very pleased considering the flooding how well the grounds crew had the course playing. There were a couple of fairways that were being repaired. And a good amount of sand had been washed out of the bunkers, but they were still playable. Greens were in really good shape, and rolling nicely. Really enjoyed the round.

I’ve played here before on both courses and I usually like the west course better; however, on this day I don’t think it was up to snuff. Several holes early on were soaking wet with puddles in the middle of the fairway. It hadn’t rained in several days, so not sure what happened there. Other holes had lots of ground under repair, and the bunkers were wet and packed. Not worth trying to hit out of them. Also, the driving range is closed on Wednesday mornings, so no warm up.

Had some type of tourney that morning, then I guess they decided to shotgun everyone they could off at noon, only got 15 holes in before dark. Thats too much to pay for 2/3rds of a round.

We drove up to the number 1 tee box 5 minutes early and looked around for the starter and was nowhere to be found. We noticed the group before us already on the green so we decided to go ahead and tee off exactly at our schedule tee time (3:11) . The starter finally shows up with an attitude telling us we need to check with starter before we tee off and we shouldn’t have started without checking in. We told him we looked for him as was nowhere to be found. He said he was busy with the other course. He just wasn’t professional or friendly and rubbed us the wrong way. It wasn’t the best way to start a round of golf. Everything else was great though! The cart girl Sahara was friendly and helpful! Course is in very good shape.

Wasn’t informed about a tournament that was being played during our tee time and we had to wait on golf carts.

Use to love playing this course, but last outting it took 3.5 hrs to get to number 11, no chance of getting 18 in so basically the price per hole doubled. C'mon you gotta do better than this. 5 carts backed up every hole and 10-15 mins to wait between shots-

My wife and I played the East course for the first time. Lots of trees and several blind shots, but overall a great day.

It was a challenge great course east side maybe next time k get the west one.

Excellent course! Great price! Bear Creek is in beautiful condition! As if this heatwave never happened. Beautiful challenging lil track. I definitely need a membership🔥NOW!

Hate to give this type review, but pace was completely unacceptable, despite several attempts of course officials to motivate the group ahead of us.

Probably the best condition course I have played this long hot summer. Really like the design. It was a little slow, but I think that may have been the groups in front versus overloading the course. The Marshall did eventually talk the the group ahead and pace picked up substantially.
