17th hole par 5 Photo submitted by glovesb on 03/09/2015
Great learning course
I've been playing Boulder Creek since i was 18.
Currently, you can play BC for $33 - cart and sandwich included.
Look, the course is par 65. The longest par 5 is under 450 yards. It is a great course for someone just learning. The front nine has 5 par 3s, and 3 short par 4s (under 320 yards). The narrow fairways still make Boulder Creek challenging, but if you want to Grip It and Rip It, this is not your course.
It is a drive for anyone who doesn't live in the valley. That sometimes means that you can find some open pockets in the tee times so that a beginner isn't pressured and can relax.
Beautiful place to Play!!..
Narrow, Challenging Corridors for Fairways... Big Beautiful Redwood Trees lined throughout..Very nice Back 9 as well... Stone Bridges to cross as you view nicely placed Water Pools.. A Beautiful Mountain back drop to add to the Beauty of the fairways.. Very Challenging, well kept and Fast Greens.. Highly recommended... I will be playing there again!!!
know where to hit
great drive to course. lucky enough to play with former director and mens club president who were very helpful with shot selection, which made the day with placement of shots. need to place the ball on the right part of green or your looking at easy three putt. enjoyable round with multiple birdies and near misses.
Beautiful course nestled under the Redwoods in the Santa Cruz mountains that makes for a very relaxing and fun day of golf.
I like this course a lot. Great value even when paying the full rate, and the staff is really nice. It has a lot of par 3s, but they're by no means easy. Several are 180+ with some tough obstacles, such as hole 10 where a shorting the green will put you straight into a deep ravine.
Also has some great shorter par 5s that with two good hits might provide you with that eagle putt that's been eluding you for so long. Take an opportunity to play a round there if you get the chance. You won't regret it.
Narrow, but picturesque; no "gimmies."
Tucked in the Santa Cruz mountains, off the beaten path, Boulder Creek is a hidden gem. While the length is not a challenge, there are no "gimmies": every hole offers some degree of challenge. The only downside is that due to the wet winter conditions, greens are exceedingly soft, so approach distance control is critical. An enjoyable round, very much looking forward to dry summer condidtions!
Wait until summer
The course will be fun to play in the summer. Right now they have frost delays, a couple of the greens are frozen solid and some of the fairways are swamps.
I love Boulder Creek
Great course. Not too long but lined with trees so you need to be accurate.
Possible to drive the green on two of the par 4's.
Beautiful course in the redwoods, just need to drive a bit to get there.
Very pretty and good fun
On a sunny day this is a pleasant experience. Nice to be in among the redwoods. Course isn't long, greens are fair but very slow.
It's a nice change of pace from 6500 yarders.
Very scenic and much warmer then expected while golfing through redwood trees. Some challanging holes. Great place to stay the weekend!
Our group stayed in the condos and had very good time. We golfed for 3 days. The crew at the reception desk for the condos is extremely friendly and accommodating. They made our stay very pleasant. They compensated for a bit stiff reception at the pro shop.
Wet Conditions
The Course was really too wet to play, with damage being done to greens. I had a great time and a great round, but the course should have been closed.
Family Affair
Had a great time. Look forward to playing here agian.
abandoned ship
it's only October, but the course looks like February... sloppy tee box to poorly maintained fairways, and then onto punched and sanded "greens". Not a whole buncha fun.
Beautiful location
This is a fun course to test your short game. Can get really hot weather, so check the temps.
great weather great views
The course is fun and challenging for most golfers and great value.
course was challenging and beautiful
Best kept secret.Course has friendly atmosphere and challenges for all skilled players.
Good Executive Course
The course is in great shape. Usually it is pretty dry at this time of year but the fairways are watered well and greens are good. Short course but skinny fairways keep it challenging.
