Crystal Springs Golf Course

Nice track overall. The greens are in real nice shape, rolling great. The fairways can be beat up in some spots, but playing better then last month. Lots of walkers caused the pace to slow. Marshalls actually keep you on pace, but can be a bit grumpy if you run into the wrong one. Way to overpriced in my opinion. Maybe due too being the only public track around the area. One month ago, my buddy booked n crystal springs website (mistake) and when we arrived, found out we were triple booked. They couldn't do anything about it so I complained to the GM and he severely discounted me during this round. Yet, if the price was 20% lower, I'd come around more often.

Great course, but incompetent management/ownership. HORRIBLE pace of play. Absolutely unbelievably slow. I will never go back here.

I understand it was a weekend, but this was ridiculous.

I rarely review but wanted to let everyone know I broke 80. lol. The course was well maintained. It was hot so the ball rolled a little too much and many of the fairways are on hills. It was perfectly fine for what it was, less than $50 with a cart, pace of play was fine, cart girl was pretty, sun was out, views, not too challenging, overall enjoyable. Not too many places to get in trouble, rough outside of fairways are usually sloped hills back to the short stuff.

This is a challenging course with some great views, don't be surprised to see wildlife as you play ( great photo opportunities ) . Several fairways are off cambe, and there are some very elevated greens and tees. The greens can be tricky but are in good condition.

Went out late on a Friday and the pace of play was pretty slow. That said, the course was in good condition. This is a course where local knowledge is very helpful, especially on the greens. This is not a course for beginners but one I would recommend to average players or better.

As advertised. Beautiful. Great views. Every hole is unique. Friendly deer on almost every hole. Great elevations. Challenging but fair. Greens in great shape. Rest of course in average shape but it's still vary much in good shape.

It's a must play in SF.

The greens are fast and lots of long beautiful drives. Over looking Crystal Springs Reservoir. Surrounded by trees for shade and there are lots of deer, birds, and wildlife to watch and enjoy.

This course was recommended to me by a few different people. They were running late because of a junior tournament, but they did ask me if i wanted to go out earlier than my tee time to avoid the delay. I got paired up with three rather novices, but it was really fun. The course was beautiful as i must have seen 20 to 30 deer on the course. The elevation changes were nice, but the pace of play was slow even though we saw the ranger quite a bit at the beginning. However, i had a good time regardless and would play again.

Course could be in better condition. Greens were slow , course needs water but the overall views are worth it.

I loved putting on those greens and hitting into them from the fairway.

For the most part I enjoyed my round crystal Springs. Aside from my inability to get off the Teebox, the biggest issues was pace of play due to the group in front of us. They seem to have no clue about course etiquette and the fact that there were other people on the golf course. The staff was friendly and accommodating. And even though the wind was gusting it was generally a very nice experience. I will play there again hopefully with better equipment because the problem is never me.

Played 18 holes in 4 hours. Front nine is more challenging then the back. great views and tons of wild life (deer, birds, turkeys etc...). Great value for bay area a bay area course.

high pressure in the bay area means heat. I got out very early on reserved tee time. Only two of us with foursome behind. perfect sequencing for us, a private course. Hilly with many sidehill lies on first few holes. Drive left. most will roll to right side of fairway. greens were difficult to read initially, much break with speed. Beautiful views with deer scattered about the back nine. cart recommended. good value. nice staff.

I do not think it is not good that the club allows to play the five ball play. Some times it cause slow play.

Due the drought, the practice is all brown.
The fairways are in decent shape and greens are in good conditions.
I played on in a hot deal at 2.10pm and finished by 6,30pm.
The front threesomes are average players but they took their sweet time .in strokes and putting.
The course has new GPS setup on the cart. So it is cool. However, my playing twosome's GPS did not work. They called twice to request for cart with working GPS. The pro shop said it would be coming with different cart with working GPS. It never happened to the end of 18th.. So that was bad service.
They forced a player in my group to buy a collar shirt instead of giving him a warning. That was good and bad. He is a high school Freshman only. New to the game first time playing not knowing a bean about required collar shirt. Pro shop could have made an exception instead of costing him $45. for the shirt...

Nice view of mountain and lake... Nice green but fairway condition is not good...

Sloping fairways make it absolutely necessary to place your ball just right. Beautiful scenery! Playing in the morning means you might get done in 5 hours - course is always overbooked, but good value for the money if you have the time.

I have been playing at Crystal Springs for last several years. It is a beautiful course that will definitely challenge your golf skills. Pricing is somewhat higher than east bay located golf courses but if you take advantage of their specials, it is a good deal to play here.
