Playing at Monarch Beach Golf Links will bring to mind the great traditions of Scottish links golf. The seaside course offers sweeping views of the oceanfront as well as a challenging and diverse layout. Robert Trent Jones, Jr. designed the golf course, fully utilizing the dramatic bluffs and natural beauty of the landscape. The course offers small, rolling greens and tight fairways that are both kept in excellent condition. Strategically placed bunkers wait treacherously throughout the course and there are a number of tricky doglegs to watch out for. The course is on the shorter side but it is an excellent place to work on your iron game. Monarch Beach Golf Links' par-4 third hole is one of the most difficult. It plays along the ocean but don't let the views distract from the challenging green that is dramatically undulated.

Ocean Holes are Great

Course was an 8.5/10 Snack Bar service was slow. Went inside for lunch. Soup was uneatable!! sent back. And of course-no driving range. Nets are disappointing

Great course but too pricey

The course is beautiful, but only half of one hole is on the water - don’t be fooled by website photos. Foursomes are staggered all day so the play is slow (took us 4:30 to play) and the course is riddled with divots.

Gorgeous course, great views

Course was in excellent shape, the clubhouse, grill, driving range were all high end. Green fees are expensive but you’re paying for the views. Totally worth it.

Good course, excellent staff, strange tipping policy.

The strange part. I was led to believe when checking in, the tip % added to the green fees was a composite for all staff. First time I had encountered an add on in advance, pick your tip % at check in.

Found out later it was pro shop personnel only who shared in the tip.

Went back in the pro shop, asked that they split the 20% of the total with the club cleaner, the valet, and the marshal, as well as the shop staff.

Kind of perplexing-I like the one tip for all, but think the one minute check in doesn’t warrant the whole $ 105 tip.

The shop said it only slit when requested Troon, you should at least explain what the system is.
