Shorecliffs Golf Club

About
Shorecliffs Golf Course wanders through the coastal canyons and valleys of San Clemente, heading towards the beautiful shoreline. Situated just steps from the ocean, the course enjoys cool ocean breezes and a temperate climate, which makes it a year-round haven for golfers. Its location also provides the golf course with plenty of scenic ocean views. The course features narrow fairways tightly lined with trees and small greens bordered by sand bunkers. The front nine is shorter and requires more accuracy than the longer, wider back nine. Shorecliffs opens with one of the trickiest par-5s in the area. This dogleg left hole features trouble both left and right. Although the layout does offer a fair challenge, players of all skill levels will feel comfortable taking on the golf course.

would have had a better score of it wasn't for the first two holes Photo submitted by champ471 on 06/17/2014
Lots of fun - tight fairways.
This is a tough par 70. Very tight fairways. Really makes you concentrate on accuracy. Course winds through the valleys near the ocean.
Thanks golfnow
Show up to my tee time and find out it’s 9 holes only and the front 9 is closed due to aerating. No warning from golf now. Too late to cancel. Tried to call and was on hold. Ended up playing the back 9 twice, par 33. Not worth it. Wait until maintenance is finshed which should October 6 or later

First time playing here in 10 years. Course conditions somewhat better than I remember, but still not great. Looked like kids running things; a little too much horseplay. Afternoon cart staff was good.
Tale of two 9’s - recent renovations are great
Love this course, front nine is narrow and unforgiving, bring extra balls when you play here - very challenging with elevation changes, blind approach and tee shots, dog legs, and undulating fairways. Back nine feels like a breeze compared to the front, wide open fairways, and interesting layout as you feel like you’re playing between neighborhoods and through all of San Clemente hills.
Course was great
Loved the course and the golf carts have gps that shows how far you are from the tee. Very helpful!
Shorecliff's
Really enjoyed the coastal breeze. It’ has some narrow fairways and elevation changes that keep things interesting. Greens were a bit patchy, possibly from some fungus, and one of the tee boxes was under renovation, which wasn’t ideal. Still, a solid round overall and worth playing if you're in the area.
Interesting
The brand new clubhouse is beautiful, staff was friendly and the food and beverage options were great. No range but we were told we could use the simulator to warm up but they wouldn’t set us up because they were waiting for a reservation to arrive. No starter so a group ended up taking our time (solid 12 minutes early) and they were super slow and held us up all day. The front nine runs along storm drains and up thru the neighbors and canyons- really interesting and challenging with some holes that don’t really have a fairway and it’s not well maintained (probably due to the challenging landscape/ elevation). Back nine is more traditional with wider fairways and nice greens. Overall, unique experience.
POOR MAINTENANCE
WE HAVE BEEN PLAYING THIS COURSEFOR YEARS NOW.
THIS IS THE WORST CONDITION I HAVE SEEN THE FAIRWAYS, ROUGH, AND GREENS.
IT LOOKED LIKE THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE A MAINTENACE CREW ANYMORE.
