Woodbridge Golf Club
About
Woodbridge’s layout doglegs through some interesting terrain, with heavy woodlands, natural wetlands, streams, and meadows making the course scenic and fun. There are 15 doglegs in all, which makes for a tough, long 7,088 yards if you’re playing from the tips.
Woodbridge’s best feature is perfectly conditioned greens that vary in size and force you to think because of the heavy undulations.
One of the most challenging holes on the front nine is No. 5, a 429-yard par 4 that plays uphill through a tight chute of trees. The spectacular green is guarded by a waterfall on the left, bunkers to the right and rear, and a pond in the front.
On the back, No. 16 is one of the nastiest, playing over water that wraps around the green. Overhanging trees get in the way off the tee, forcing you to work the ball if the pin is tucked right or left. Rather than getting fancy, the best play here is to get it on the green and work for the two-putt par.
Getting there : From Dallas, take Hwy. 75 (Central Expressway) north to Hwy. 190 (George Bush Turnpike). Drive east to Hwy. 78, then north for 4 miles. The entrance to the subdivision is on the right, and there are signs to the course inside.

Course in pretty good shape. Some greens showed recent aeration.
Sandtraps are being reworked. Pull your ball out.
Best course and value around with an awesome staff
Always a good experience golfing Woodbridge. The staff is incredibly friendly, the condition of the course is great and the pace is always good. Great value. We will keep coming back.
Always challenging
Love Woodbridge for the challenging course but didn’t remember the bunkers being in such rough shape. Reminds me of Buffalo Creek until recently.
Challenging
Very challenging, narrow fairways but loved it! We will be back!
Woodbridge review
Loved the course! Drove 45 min to play and will definitely do that again!
Woodbridge
Staff here is superb. Course is a nice layout with lots of variety. The only area where they need to improve is the condition of the bunkers. Most of them were just hardpan and the rest had mud in them. Need to run a bunker machine thru them.
Always a great value
Regarding value, the twilight/super twilight/superb twilight rates as well as the junior/senior/family/[active] fire/police/military rates are quite reasonable everyday. The amount I paid was after discounts.
Regarding the course:
The 2nd shot on #3, unless you are bordering the creek already, is nerve-racking as you can land in the woods, the creek itself, the bunker between the creek & the green, large bushes right after the creek, or (egads) a pond way right of the hole.
The green on #4 is large but undulating and is less pleasant if you miss the green from the downhill approach.
The approach on #5 incorporates a carry over a pond/creek, and missing left could end up with a wet ball.
Avoid the woods on the left of #7; an undulating green awaits with bunkers to the back, woods to the right, and a creek guarding the front.
A great draw could land you on the short par-4 #8 in one. Time permitting, enjoy the presence of Elvis, a large avian resident, as well as the other birds.
#9 is the most wide open drive on the course, though good luck finding your ball if you go too far right as you'll be on the driving range.
Going too far right off the tee on #10 can land you in a pond, the woods, or behind a large tree that is a barrier to the approach.
A creek in the front and large bunkers to the sides and in the back surround the par-5 13th green, which is undulating. The bunkers seem to currently be under renovation though.
There aren't a lot of good places to land the ball around the 14th or the 16th green other than the green itself.
Please make sure you read the covid-19 update on Woodbridge's website before you book or arrive at the course. I learned from this week's round that I need to use the GPS cart system more the next time I play here.
Amenities include putting greens, a driving range, and a bunker/chipping area. The pro shop has reasonably priced items.
Fairways & greens were good. Edge of greens had no grass. Most sand traps are being repaired. Looks like new drains being added.
Course is operating in a different world
Look, the course is great. Great value, fun track, cool facility. But this course seems to be living in a 2019 world. The course only allows 2 carts per foursome, forcing complete strangers to ride in a cart together.... Meanwhile there’s 40 carts not being used. Every course in DFW has removed water coolers, ball washers, rakes. etc and this course has it all. When assigned to the cart, the other player and I felt uncomfortable with the idea and the shop guy said no you’ll be fine and that we couldn’t use an additional cart. I don’t know man seems pretty foolish to not adhere to the guidelines and help make players as comfortable as possible. Living in perpetual fear is not the answer but taking no precautions at all and endangering others is not the way to go either. I will not be back unless playing with a roomate.
Ambiguous COVID-19 Guidelines
Today is Aug 9, 2020 and Covid-19 is still running rampant throughout Collin County. I say this because in a month we went from 700+ to almost 2500 active cases. You would think public establishments would follow appropriate guidelines by now and use common sense. What does this have to do with golf? I play twice a week throughout Collin County and every course I've played requires one person per cart unless they are family. At Woodbridge this doesn't apply. Mind you, you still have to wear a mask and keep 6 feet apart in the pro shop, but once on the course you are required to share a cart with a complete stranger (if you are a single like I was). Do you not have enough carts? Then why is that my problem and why are you putting my health at risk? No logic to this. Did they tell me when I checked in? No. They happily gave me a key and I was on my way. Not until we got to the first green does a marshal come up and say we are breaking that rule. Say what??? Anyway, caveat emptor, unless you are a pandemic denier then have fun!

We tried two carts and the GPS did not work in either. I would assume for the price, this should be something that separates them from others. We also played behind a group that would not allow us to play through from the 10th hole. We were a twosome and they a foursome.
