Woodbridge Golf Club
About
Woodbridge’s layout doglegs through some interesting terrain, with heavy woodlands, natural wetlands, streams, and meadows making the course scenic and fun. There are 15 doglegs in all, which makes for a tough, long 7,088 yards if you’re playing from the tips.
Woodbridge’s best feature is perfectly conditioned greens that vary in size and force you to think because of the heavy undulations.
One of the most challenging holes on the front nine is No. 5, a 429-yard par 4 that plays uphill through a tight chute of trees. The spectacular green is guarded by a waterfall on the left, bunkers to the right and rear, and a pond in the front.
On the back, No. 16 is one of the nastiest, playing over water that wraps around the green. Overhanging trees get in the way off the tee, forcing you to work the ball if the pin is tucked right or left. Rather than getting fancy, the best play here is to get it on the green and work for the two-putt par.
Getting there : From Dallas, take Hwy. 75 (Central Expressway) north to Hwy. 190 (George Bush Turnpike). Drive east to Hwy. 78, then north for 4 miles. The entrance to the subdivision is on the right, and there are signs to the course inside.

Need to finish repairs
Many sand traps totally unplayable. Packed out Monday and backup. Very wet and slow fairways and no recent rain. Layout of course great.
poor course management
I have played this course over the years. most all tee boxes were so hard you could not put a tee in the ground. The greens were dry and hard which cause the ball to bounce when hit. The bunkers were dried out with not much sand in them, The pro shop, golf carts etc. did not comply with covid safety precautions as other courses in the area are. I will not play this course again this year and will tell others of the issues.
It was crowded. Took 4hrs. 30 mins. For round.not
Not crowded.. traps at hole 13 are being reworked. Some sand traps have fluffy sand others are like concrete.
Lots of fun!
First time playing this course. We went on a Sunday and had a great pace of play. Maybe waited for a short bit in a couple tee boxes? Which is nothing.
The layout of the holes was pretty interesting- lots of undulation. The conditions were pretty good- greens were either really slow or really fast. Haha kept you on your toes.
The GPS was in included in the price, but ours didn’t work. Wasn’t a huge deal though, because we were grouped with a single, and he let us peek over to his.
We will definitely be back!
Course in pretty good shape. Some greens showed recent aeration.
Sandtraps are being reworked. Pull your ball out.
Best course and value around with an awesome staff
Always a good experience golfing Woodbridge. The staff is incredibly friendly, the condition of the course is great and the pace is always good. Great value. We will keep coming back.
Always challenging
Love Woodbridge for the challenging course but didn’t remember the bunkers being in such rough shape. Reminds me of Buffalo Creek until recently.
Challenging
Very challenging, narrow fairways but loved it! We will be back!
Woodbridge review
Loved the course! Drove 45 min to play and will definitely do that again!
Woodbridge
Staff here is superb. Course is a nice layout with lots of variety. The only area where they need to improve is the condition of the bunkers. Most of them were just hardpan and the rest had mud in them. Need to run a bunker machine thru them.
Always a great value
Regarding value, the twilight/super twilight/superb twilight rates as well as the junior/senior/family/[active] fire/police/military rates are quite reasonable everyday. The amount I paid was after discounts.
Regarding the course:
The 2nd shot on #3, unless you are bordering the creek already, is nerve-racking as you can land in the woods, the creek itself, the bunker between the creek & the green, large bushes right after the creek, or (egads) a pond way right of the hole.
The green on #4 is large but undulating and is less pleasant if you miss the green from the downhill approach.
The approach on #5 incorporates a carry over a pond/creek, and missing left could end up with a wet ball.
Avoid the woods on the left of #7; an undulating green awaits with bunkers to the back, woods to the right, and a creek guarding the front.
A great draw could land you on the short par-4 #8 in one. Time permitting, enjoy the presence of Elvis, a large avian resident, as well as the other birds.
#9 is the most wide open drive on the course, though good luck finding your ball if you go too far right as you'll be on the driving range.
Going too far right off the tee on #10 can land you in a pond, the woods, or behind a large tree that is a barrier to the approach.
A creek in the front and large bunkers to the sides and in the back surround the par-5 13th green, which is undulating. The bunkers seem to currently be under renovation though.
There aren't a lot of good places to land the ball around the 14th or the 16th green other than the green itself.
Please make sure you read the covid-19 update on Woodbridge's website before you book or arrive at the course. I learned from this week's round that I need to use the GPS cart system more the next time I play here.
Amenities include putting greens, a driving range, and a bunker/chipping area. The pro shop has reasonably priced items.
Fairways & greens were good. Edge of greens had no grass. Most sand traps are being repaired. Looks like new drains being added.
