Woodbridge Golf Club
About
Woodbridge’s layout doglegs through some interesting terrain, with heavy woodlands, natural wetlands, streams, and meadows making the course scenic and fun. There are 15 doglegs in all, which makes for a tough, long 7,088 yards if you’re playing from the tips.
Woodbridge’s best feature is perfectly conditioned greens that vary in size and force you to think because of the heavy undulations.
One of the most challenging holes on the front nine is No. 5, a 429-yard par 4 that plays uphill through a tight chute of trees. The spectacular green is guarded by a waterfall on the left, bunkers to the right and rear, and a pond in the front.
On the back, No. 16 is one of the nastiest, playing over water that wraps around the green. Overhanging trees get in the way off the tee, forcing you to work the ball if the pin is tucked right or left. Rather than getting fancy, the best play here is to get it on the green and work for the two-putt par.
Getting there : From Dallas, take Hwy. 75 (Central Expressway) north to Hwy. 190 (George Bush Turnpike). Drive east to Hwy. 78, then north for 4 miles. The entrance to the subdivision is on the right, and there are signs to the course inside.

Course is operating in a different world
Look, the course is great. Great value, fun track, cool facility. But this course seems to be living in a 2019 world. The course only allows 2 carts per foursome, forcing complete strangers to ride in a cart together.... Meanwhile there’s 40 carts not being used. Every course in DFW has removed water coolers, ball washers, rakes. etc and this course has it all. When assigned to the cart, the other player and I felt uncomfortable with the idea and the shop guy said no you’ll be fine and that we couldn’t use an additional cart. I don’t know man seems pretty foolish to not adhere to the guidelines and help make players as comfortable as possible. Living in perpetual fear is not the answer but taking no precautions at all and endangering others is not the way to go either. I will not be back unless playing with a roomate.
Ambiguous COVID-19 Guidelines
Today is Aug 9, 2020 and Covid-19 is still running rampant throughout Collin County. I say this because in a month we went from 700+ to almost 2500 active cases. You would think public establishments would follow appropriate guidelines by now and use common sense. What does this have to do with golf? I play twice a week throughout Collin County and every course I've played requires one person per cart unless they are family. At Woodbridge this doesn't apply. Mind you, you still have to wear a mask and keep 6 feet apart in the pro shop, but once on the course you are required to share a cart with a complete stranger (if you are a single like I was). Do you not have enough carts? Then why is that my problem and why are you putting my health at risk? No logic to this. Did they tell me when I checked in? No. They happily gave me a key and I was on my way. Not until we got to the first green does a marshal come up and say we are breaking that rule. Say what??? Anyway, caveat emptor, unless you are a pandemic denier then have fun!

We tried two carts and the GPS did not work in either. I would assume for the price, this should be something that separates them from others. We also played behind a group that would not allow us to play through from the 10th hole. We were a twosome and they a foursome.
Extremely slow
Playing as a twosome at 1 and ended up being a 5+ hour round with the group in front of us playing 2 holes behind the pace. Refused to let us through at the turn and no marshal to be seen. Nice course but spending 10 minutes waiting between shots makes the round far less enjoyable
Woodbridge
Tuff course when you are a hacker like me.. Shot over a 100 and that's bad for me.. The course can be pretty challenging unless you're on your game.
Fun and challenging
Overall, very good course. Only negative was the sand traps. So bad you couldn’t play out of them.
Course management is vital
This is a course that would be greatly helped by drone flyover videos. Too many of the fairway and greens fall off into hazards and out of bounds. Course maps are useless unless they have topo versions. As a result playing aggressive on many holes carries too much risk. Some of this can be overcome if you play the course often. As the course name denotes, there are a lot of wood bridges... that need to be replaced soon.
Great course. Well maintained.
no complaints. Maybe some labor on some bunkers could be used but greens are true. Fairways great. Fun course.
Pace
ZERO reason for slow play. To many wanna-be players that can’t break 100 taking over 4.5 hrs to play. Marshall’s, where are you? Take a chance playing a different course, this is what you get. Will never go back
Poor Social Distancing
Love the course.
The Pro shop forces you to pair up and share a cart with strangers if you’re a single—Very poor management of social distancing during pandemic—I ended up walking. (Tough walking course)
Also—the crew pulls pins way too early.
I’ve never seen a crew pull pins as early as Woodbridge.
