About
Located just minutes from LAX, Rio Hondo Golf Club is conveniently accessible from the South Bay and Orange County. Golf Digest has ranked the course as one of southern California's "Places to Play." The 6,370-yard layout is narrow and challenging, placing a premium on accuracy off the tee. Many locals consider it to be the toughest golf course in the area. The course features tight, tree-lined fairways and subtly contoured greens that are faster than they look. It's not a particularly long layout but the par 3s provide some good length. Golfers will face a variety of challenges throughout, but there is also plenty of scenic respite. Sparkling lakes and cascading waterfalls are scattered across the landscape, coming into play on a few holes as well. In addition to the golf course, there is also a lighted, 30-station driving range at Rio Hondo G.C.

Definitely will be back
Had a great time playing this course. The layout is fun and challenging, fairways were in great shape and most importantly the greens were rolling! They had the kind in tuff locations, I recommend trying to always leave yourself the straight uphill putt because the greens have a ton of break in them. Lastly they have some beastly par 3s if I remember I marked one at 235. Be prepared for that guy. Overall great time, beautiful course if I’m lucky enough to get another time there I will definitely be back.

Nice course, but slow play
We usually enjoy playing this course, but not today. Play was very slow and the fairways are still like hitting off of hard pan. Will delay playing again until there is grass on the fairways.

Great pace
We teed off about 10 minutes late but then the only time we had to wait after that was on the par 3's. The course was in great shape & we enjoyed a great round of golf even though we may not have played that well.

too slow
The almost every hole we had to wait before get to tee shots.
