About
Located just minutes from LAX, Rio Hondo Golf Club is conveniently accessible from the South Bay and Orange County. Golf Digest has ranked the course as one of southern California's "Places to Play." The 6,370-yard layout is narrow and challenging, placing a premium on accuracy off the tee. Many locals consider it to be the toughest golf course in the area. The course features tight, tree-lined fairways and subtly contoured greens that are faster than they look. It's not a particularly long layout but the par 3s provide some good length. Golfers will face a variety of challenges throughout, but there is also plenty of scenic respite. Sparkling lakes and cascading waterfalls are scattered across the landscape, coming into play on a few holes as well. In addition to the golf course, there is also a lighted, 30-station driving range at Rio Hondo G.C.

For me the first 2 holes I play as par 5 and came within inches of par on both, I am a 15 handicap/index and shot 88 love the greens, I have been playing here for 37 years, won my match play championship here and very much appreciate the service from all, looking forward to there annual Turkey shoot scramble hopefully this year Michael Carver member at skylinks men's club

Course played great. Had a twilight tee time so couldn't get back 9 in but front 9 was perfect. A few fairways that could use some work but overall 8-10

Home Course
Played multiple times
POP is usually about 4 hours and 30-40min
Being that I live down the street I'm pretty lucky to be able to consider this my home course, The course is always in great shape. The POP can get a little backed up though which can get pretty aggravating (right around 6-7-8 holes get ready to stand around a while. Then again on 10-11). The other thing that sucks is getting a good morning tee time is impossible due to the men's club having priority.
Overall though the course itself and the management are definitely 5 stars..
Stickler for Good Conditions? Rio is Worth It
This course seems consistently well-kept (granted I’ve only played here twice). But if you’re picky like me and play often, on many different courses, you’ll appreciate this one. Especially for under $60
