About
Located just minutes from LAX, Rio Hondo Golf Club is conveniently accessible from the South Bay and Orange County. Golf Digest has ranked the course as one of southern California's "Places to Play." The 6,370-yard layout is narrow and challenging, placing a premium on accuracy off the tee. Many locals consider it to be the toughest golf course in the area. The course features tight, tree-lined fairways and subtly contoured greens that are faster than they look. It's not a particularly long layout but the par 3s provide some good length. Golfers will face a variety of challenges throughout, but there is also plenty of scenic respite. Sparkling lakes and cascading waterfalls are scattered across the landscape, coming into play on a few holes as well. In addition to the golf course, there is also a lighted, 30-station driving range at Rio Hondo G.C.

Green speed. Worse...
This golf course's green speed is worse than other golf course's fairway.I recommend you never go.

Course in great shape. Pace was great
Another great round at Rio Hondo... as usual. Course is in excellent shape and we moved quickly. You will never be disappointed with this course. They do a great job of keeping the course in excellent condition.

Slowest round since Covid
Waited 20 mins on 7 only to 4 groups ahead of us on 8...walked. 7 holes in 3 hours ruins a round.

HEADS UP!!!
Just to start off, this course is very well taken care of- greens are nice and fairways are actually green besides a few spray painted holes. BUT- the course setup is poor, almost got my head taken off more than once. It’s just not a safe course, and the nice greens and fairways aren’t worth getting taken out by a ball coming from the 5th while your on the 9th fairway. Be the first one their... might help.
