About
Located just minutes from LAX, Rio Hondo Golf Club is conveniently accessible from the South Bay and Orange County. Golf Digest has ranked the course as one of southern California's "Places to Play." The 6,370-yard layout is narrow and challenging, placing a premium on accuracy off the tee. Many locals consider it to be the toughest golf course in the area. The course features tight, tree-lined fairways and subtly contoured greens that are faster than they look. It's not a particularly long layout but the par 3s provide some good length. Golfers will face a variety of challenges throughout, but there is also plenty of scenic respite. Sparkling lakes and cascading waterfalls are scattered across the landscape, coming into play on a few holes as well. In addition to the golf course, there is also a lighted, 30-station driving range at Rio Hondo G.C.

Tee times made through GolfNow are never honored at this course even though a confirmation is received via email. Always have to show the email confirmation to play. However , the reserved tee Time is never honored and always end up teeing off around 30 minutes after reserved tee time.
Staff is not friendly at all. I always feel discriminated at this location by there white employees.
I will not be going back. Terrible experiences here.
Slow slow slow
Played here twice and have yet to finish a round. If you like 8hr rounds then this is the place for you! Takes 4hrs for the front 9 which is ridiculous! Don’t waste your time here
Nice course.
This is a very well kept course with real sand bunkers. It's tight and rewards golfers who can keep ball in the fairway (wiseass).

GREAT LAYOUT AND THE GREENS WERE AWESOME. WILL GO BACK SOON. I HAD A GREAT GROUP OF GUYS TO PLAY WITH. I WISH I GOT THEIR INFO SO I COULD PLAY WITH THEM AGAIN.

Booked a 3pm tee time to take advantage of lower fee.
played w/3 friendlies for a nice round.
This course has sandy bunkers compared to cheaper courses and greens nicer also.
Course good, pace slow
The course is nice right now. There’re water features on a few holes. The tee boxes are torn up, but it didn’t really bother me. The longer holes are a little narrow but I stayed mostly in the fairway. The par 3s are long feom the blue tees. One was like 235.
Pace was super slow. Group ahead and the one ahead of that were foursomes that took forever to take their shots. About 5 and half hrs to finish on a Saturday. But I think that’s about the pace for the LA area so *shrug*
Pace of play
Great Course, they just booked too many teetimes with not enough space in between them. Looks like it’s all about the money. (Most Courses)No Marshall on the course.. People looking for their ball for more than 10 minutes!!!
Good tee time, weak body!
Joined 2 singles, Ruben and Amin, for 18 holes; not bad considering we started at 3pm. The course is nicely cared for. It's a tight course with ponds all around. We had fun.
Always A Fun Round
I've played this a few times. Great playing partners, excellent staff, good condition. Not sure why people play so slow or why they can't fix marks on green. I'm not a great player but I know enough to keep moving. My only complaint is they do not allow Senior County rate except before 7 and after 11am- even though County Card says rates apply before 7am and AFTER 9am on weekdays.
