Mather Golf Course

I like this course very much and have played it many many times. They offer some super deals via GolfNow and there is always good availability of tee times. This was formerly an Air Force golf course and each hole for the most part is laid out very straight. This equates to maybe not a lot of memorable holes or asthetically interesting holes, but it is easy to get on and a good value. The conditions are very good and last time I played the greens were rolling very fast (which I really liked!). The fairways are wide and generous and it is good for your ego.

It's Mather, so I expected a long round, lots of folks hitting across fairways et al...

Nice day out, nice enough to play a replay at 15 bucks...

Desk person was very pleasant and friendly.
Work being done on 18th fairway to repair drainage, hole plays as a 110 yard par 3.

Paid premium to go out 5:50am, with cart and advertised as fast. Played first 9 in an hour (great). Timekeeper ran out his friends and a few first timers on the back 9 right in front of us.. Took 3 hours to play back 9. I will never go back . Very bad business

Got a starting time at the last minute. Course was in good condition, not crowded and the price was very reasonable. Their were just two of us, stopped at the turn to get something to eat, and we still finished in about 3.5 hrs.

Nothing tricky about this course. What you see is what you get. A little on the long side with plenty of landing area on most holes for driving off the tee ....The greens are in great shape..... I find playing the course enjoyable.

Course was in good shape, green rolled true, staff was polite and friendy.

The greens were in better shape than normal. The woman at the proshop was very helpful. Pace was excellent. The fairways were in good shape. I enjoyed the day and my golf partners did as well.

Mather has a lot of bomber holes! Good test for longer hitters!
Although course has tree lined holes, all fairways have plenty of room to keep it in play!

the pace of play is absolutely terrible five and half hours never saw a marshal. At times on back there were 15 to 20 minutes wait on the tees. they have sighs on the course that says a foursome should a hole in fifteen minutes, which not possible when you are sending foursomes off every 4 to 4 1/2 minutes

Great day of golf. Course was in good shape and play was fast.

The course is a bit long from the whites 6450 yds but there is ample room for Driving and not much trouble in the fairways.The only defense this course offers up is its tricky Greens and in certain pin placements they can be downright nasty.This is an enjoyable course for most people.

A great course for all skill levels. Although long, the fairways are wide. The course is in great shape. The greens are fairly fast and can be somewhat deceptive. I read more slope than was necessary. Great experience and the weather was fantastic.

Mather is in pretty good condition, considering it isn't all the way back from it's aeration...greens are a bit shaggy with the plugged holes almost gone on most of them. Some tee boxes have longer to go before they recover. Fairways were in very good condition for the most part as was the rough. Friendly staff.

Fairways were great but rough much too thick. Need to mow rough down for faster play and less time locating ball. Greens had been punched ao putting was challenging to say the least.

Mather is always crowded, but it moved along. Greens were in excellent shape, and very fast. Fairways were well maintained, without many bare spots.

Fun course. Fairways and greens are in very good shape. Greens very fast and firm and true.

Pace of play was just over 4 hours - great for a Sat PM.

I'd definitely go back.

This is a good walking course, beautiful mature trees and a little elevation. Great views of the Sierra Nevada's, no homes, just greenbelt and lots of quiet. Even though it is on an old USAF base the air traffic is minimal and the noise level low becasue it is a few miles from the runway and up wind. The greens are fast and in great shape, as always. Nice driving range and good prices.

I love the outlay of the course it is very forgiving. It is one of my favorites.
