I enjoyed the elevation changes and receptive greens.

The first hole has a downhill second shot to a guarded green. The finishing par 3 isn’t impressive when looking at the scorecard but is a very fun hole because of the major downhill slope. The course is fair with some well placed bunkers. Pace of play is good even on a busy Saturday. Greens had good pace and were in good condition.

I had a terrible experience with the pro shop. I called to add someone to my tee time and, after giving my last name, he said he didn’t have me down for that date. I realized I had forgotten to mention it was for tomorrow, not today. When I clarified, he sarcastically thanked me “for being so clear” and hung up on me. Concerned, I called again shortly after to confirm the booking. When I asked if it was booked, he mocked me by repeating “yeah, yeah” in the same tone, then curtly confirmed it and hung up again. I’ve never felt so belittled trying to handle a simple request. Extremely unprofessional service—I won’t be returning.

This course has been recommended a few times to me and I finally made it out there. I’ve got to see I understand the hype this course is well kept with a challenging layout but still gives you lots of opportunities to recover. One of the best courses in Sacramento for me. Can’t wait for my next round here.

Only played 9 holes due to very slow play and paid or 18.

Paid $57 for 18 and a cart on a Friday afternoon. Overall was a positive experience was able to get through 18 in 4.5 hours.

As a complete beginner the course was a bit tough at points but enjoyed every bit of it. I loved the course layout, the views, the nature. Very positive experience across the board. Can’t speak for a weekend, but weekday afternoons, this place was great.

Empire is one of my favorite places to play. It offered a great course under very good conditions. Only thing is our round took 5 hours and 30 minutes waiting every shot for groups in front of us. If it weren’t for this I would play here more often. Not sure if it’s tee times being stacked to close or not enough pace of play patrolling. There were 2 singles that kept bouncing around holes trying to find openings to fit into

The fact it rained as much as it did days before we played the course was in great shape. The greens rolled very true and overall it was a very pleasant round

Course is an excellent shape. But that should be expected at this time of year. The.exception is the bunkers, some bunkers have too much sand makes very difficult to pitch out of. Other bunkers are just a dirt hole in the ground. Pace of plate was horrible. Marshall made one attempt to speed it up, but it didn’t work.

The course was in terrible condition.

tee boxes were all being worked on. bunkers were unplayable except for a few. Greens had been punched recently and were rough at best. cafeteria closed at 3 that date and no cart for refreshments.
