I walked off on the 13th hole
Yes it was Thanksgiving weekend so there is that but it was so slow that by the 13th hole I left. There were 3 groups waiting to tee off. The conditions, pace of play and course didn't make it worth the money. I won't be going back.
Solid Bang for Your Buck
Course is in pretty good condition for fall as long as you are in the fairway. Rough is dormant and the soil is hard as a rock in most places off the fairway. Greens are firm and quick but receptive and rolling nicely. Players could fix their divots more. The bar has tasty chicken club sandwich
Quit before it was over
Was tracking for a 5+ hour round (with a cart) bit quit before it was over. No marshal on the course and it's not in great shape for a $73 round with a cart and some balls.
Best time of year
Course is probably the firmest it will be, no wets spots. Great weather day, greens were very nice.
Well done
Very simply, this very wide-open course that is clearly geared for intermediate players, and very forgiving, was, nevertheless in probably the best condition I have seen any course in in Norcal recently. The fairways looked like greens, and the greens looked and played like pool tables. Relative to several of my old favorite Roseville courses, the conditions of those made Mather look like Augusta. Pace of play could have been better, but there was reportedly some ladies league on the back 9 when we began. I love this course though. It’s all about conditions and good maintenance to make me feel I’m at a fun and beautiful venue. A beverage cart would’ve been nice though. ;-)

Mather is so good to play this time of year,fairways run for big drives perfect weather not to hot,staff is great n food good!
