A lot of wait for your buck
The course is in great shape but other than that it’s not worth it because you’re gonna be waiting at least 10+ minutes every Teebox! It toke over 5 1/2 hours to play. My tee time was at 12 thinking that’s plenty of time to play 18 we finished at 6. The Marshall was not enforcing rate of play and this happens every time I play there. This is the first time I actually finished a full round.
Life is too short to play at Rustic Canyon
The staff has a nasty attitude especially the cart girl!!
The course is ugly not fun.
Some holes par-5s are "cart path only" for no reason

Can be challenging
I am a regular player at Rustic Canyon Golf Course. This is a challenging course any day, however this day was more so due to the high winds.

Great course, terrible Pace
Love the course. Outstanding green complexes and great turf conditions. The pace of play was ABYSMAL. Several groups on 1 tee. I quit after 12 which was 3hrs40mins. A few groups called the house to let the Marshalls know….nobody came. It was a 1230pm tee time on a Thursday so not sure how it was so slow.

Fun as always
Played single. Got paired up with another single and a double. As always it was a lot of fun supporting new found acquaintances as we all struggled to figure out Rustic Canyon. Winds were up which made it even more challenging. End the end it was all about having fun which Rustic always delivers.

Natural Course
This course is tough and fun! If you can hit your yardages and 2 putt you can score well. Most greens are 3 putt territory if you don't roll it well. Great value for money and experience. I drive 1 hour from South Bay to play here.

Great course and cooperative staff!!
Did not play as wind speeds hit early 30 mph. The starter offered me refund if I chose not to play. Golf is hard as it is…. I thought it would be a carnage in nearly 30 mph wind. But have played this course multiple times and it is one of my favorite public courses in all of SoCal along with TorreyPines, Ike, Soule Park and Angeles National. Angeles is bit overpriced as is Torrey Pines for non- residents.

Outstanding!
Arrived early and was able to enjoy an open and stocked pro shop. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable and really made sure I knew how to book in advance, use the best rewards I could use, and offered information I didn’t even know I needed. Cart was available and brought out clean and swiftly by the cart barn staff. Played a most excellent round of golf. You’re going to three putt. You’re just going to three putt. Only thing I would fix would be to paint the entire tee marker so we can see them better. Fairways and traps were WELL manicured. Cannot complain about a bad lie in either of these locations. (Yes. I bunkered on the 2nd hole.)
Finished my game and utilized the grill. GREAT food for a golf course. Staff were super friendly and food came quickly. Plenty of parking spaces in the huge lot. Couldn’t ask for a breed round of golf. Of course, the wind was very low, so that added to the day!

Overall, a bad experience.
Overall, a bad experience. This course will give you a feel of the course management is only caring about hole number one and hole number 18. The staff was somewhat rude and unfriendly. The whole Vibe of this place was just bad for me. Way way way over priced for this quality course. Will never go back and I am sure the management don’t care either.

Needs Improvements
Tee marker colors are hard to see, entire marker should be painted not just the top.
Non golf cart areas should be clearly marked to avoid having the cart unexpectedly turned off.

Great course
Windy today but played anyway. Lot of fun adjusting my game to the conditions. I won’t be so hesitant to play in the wind next time. In my opinion the best public course in so cal.
