The Country Club at Soboba Springs
About
Soboba Springs Golf Course was founded in 2004 when the Luiseno Indians purchased the property. It had long been a dream of the tribal leaders to own this golf course, which borders their reservation. The tribe's leaders hired Cary Bickler, a disciple of the course's original designer, Desmond Muirhead, to update the layout and pave the way for it to once again be one of southern California's premier golfing destinations. The renovation included the addition of 25 new bunkers, a lengthening of the back tees and shortening of the forward tees by almost 1,000 yards to make it more approachable for the less experienced player. The Augusta-white sand that fills Soboba Springs' bunkers provides a stunning contrast to the lush greens. Water also comes into play throughout the golf course in the form of meandering streams and cascading waterfalls.

Nice day at the "park"
Couldn't ask for better weather, and I was paired up with the best. He was real knowledgeable and felt like I got playing lessons! Although the course had been aerated (reason for low fee?), I had an excellent time. BTW, excellent Bloody Mary!
The course is really well maintained and has friendly staff
The course was in beautiful shape, in all aspects. The fairways were short and fast. The rough was thick and the greens were smooth and at a good rolling speed. The staff was friendly and the facilities are exceptional. I had dinner after the round in the stone maze grill and the food was great. Overall had a awesome day and will definitely be back soon...
Soboba Springs
From Tee boxes to greens, great conditions. Staff is friendly and polite. Four sets of tee boxes from 5826 Yards all the way back to 7204 so you can play the appropriate tee box to your handicap. Nice grass range, putting green could use a few more holes to put to. If there are more than 4 people putting it can get a little crowded.
Just to let everyone know this is a very walkable course, maybe one long hill to climb.
( word is they will plug and sand the green soon)
The good outweighed the not so good.
The good: course was in really good shape. Good value with the discount. The beverage cart came by regulary, seemed like every other hole so you didn't go without your beverage of choice. The clubhouse facilites showers/restrooms were really nice.
The not so good: The major problem we had is we were the first group out after a morning tournament and we ended up with a six hour round. At the turn we asked the Snack Shop what time they closed and they said 5pm, we got in at 4pm and they had already turned off the grill so we had limited menu options. The $10 yardage book that was prepared by a pro caddy has yardges from the tips so if you are playing from other tees you have to recompute.
Great Course with Mountain backdrops
Great course but due to end of
Santa Ana winds still had a lot
of debris on course. We are sure
that otherwise it would have
been in much better condition.
Still we all enjoyed our 18 holes
very much.
beautiful course
The course was in excellent condition. The staff was wonderful. We played 27 holes for $45. This is an excellent value for a tour quality course.
Soboba Springs is a Gem!
This one has been on my to-play list for some time, finally got it booked and got out there, MAN-O-MAN what a great track.
I have to admit the course was a challenge to me, probably because I had played a round a day for the entire week and felt a bit tired. I'll be back on a Monday or Tuesday to bring my best game to beat the well guarded and quick greens. The length wasn't bad, not long not short. Some excellent Par 3s over water, Just a bunch of well laid out holes.
I'd put this one in my top 4 in the Inland Empire.
A Hidden Gem
My wife and I were intrigued by many good reviews of this somewhat out of the way club. We therefore decided to stop by and broke the monotony of our trip to other places. We are glad that we did. Except for a very few holes, most of the holes all have excellent views of the mountains behind the club house. While the course is moderately challenging, there are a few very long holes which certainly will test your skills and patience. All fairways were in good condition and greens were in great shape. The best part of our experience was that the course was not very busy. We were therefore able to tee off earlier than scheduled as twosome. Although I am not saying that it would compare to a grand cru, this club certainly is like a good regular table wine.
Soboba Springs Is Really Nice
This is one of the nicer IE Courses. Soboba is dialed in throughout the entire experience. I had a 12:30 GN HotDeal. Needed to Tee off about 30 mins early to get to an apt. Pro Shop staff helped me get out & was this smooth & prompt. Didn't really have anyone ahead or behind me all day (not typical). Which was perfect for me on that particular day. Wind does pick up there, usually in the afternoon, which does help combat the desert(like) heat. Fairways were nice, greens were receptive, and I think they are known for attention to detail on the Tee Boxes. Again, quality throughout.
Greens are fairly quick. I'd say right between Tukwet Canyon (Morongo), and Yucaipa. Without nearly the undulation of either course. Played the combo tee boxes. Just right for me (intermediate).
The course was leafy, but the crew was out there vacuuming them up.
Oh... the sand is the fluffiest, softest sand I've ever played. I was pushing right under the ball. Probably cost me 6 strokes, just because I wasn't used to it.
nice greens
can be breezy so some holes play into wind, greens putt true and are in great condition all in all a good time had by our group. nice bar too.
Good Change
This use to be one of my favorite courses but it started going downhill so I didn't play it for a while. This was my first time back in 6 months or so and it was in very good condition with some helpful changes to the way the course played. The tee boxes were moved forward but the course still played pretty tough because the fairways were soft and reduced the roll. The green speeds were still good but not deadly. I've been there when the green are lightening quick and the holes are very long (470 uphill up wind par 4 long). The rounds use to be a lot longer and that was not the case this time. I don't recall waiting and no one waited on us. We played it at 83, 86, and the wife shot 100.
Beautiful Day
Soboba was in excellent shape and the course was not too busy. The greens were very receptive and putted true. Played in 4 hours with little waiting. No problems for first time players to follow the course and was a good test.
This course is in great shape
I would play this course everyday if I didn't have to drive 70 miles,Course is in great shape, staff is very nice .Food a the turn was great and it's all around great price would play it again. Thanks for a great time.
A great course with a variety of interesting holes
My third time playing this course, and looking
forward to returning again. It presents a good
variety of holes, which makes the course very
interesting. Somewhat challenging is probably
a bit of an understatement as the greens are
quick and well bunkered.
Great Course
Staff is extremely pleasant and helpful. Beautiful course. Great rates....just really enjoyed it. We play it on our way to Palm Desert from Carlsbad. We liked it so much we actually went back and played it two days later even though we were not on our way home. Why? Because the rates were great and it was cooler than the desert. And...they gave us an extra senior discount when we checked in! Thanks, Soboba Springs Staff, for a great two days of golf!
Great views and great golf
Really enjoyed playing here. Very good conditions, some great looking holes, challenging, friendly staff. I really liked a lot of the holes, very picturesque. Will definitely be coming back as this is by far my (new) favorite golf course in the area.
Great golf
Love this course and fast challenging greens always. We come back every time we are in the area
Ok but not what I was expecting.
The course was nice but I didn't feel as though it lived up to its 4.4/5 stars it has on golfnow.com. The fairways and greens were nice but there seemed to be a lot of detail stuff missing i.e. missing ball washers at the holes, missing towels @ the ball washers, missing yardage signs at the tee box. Other than that the course was pretty good. I would play there again but I would give it more of a 3.8/3.9 out of 5 stars.
avoid windy days
Great course, lots of very nice looking holes...played in strong winds which made it very challenging. Great clubhouse...overall great golf experience
