Golfer Reviews
Hot, humid Day
Course was well manicured, as always. Played behind Stetson University’s golf tryouts today. Even though we caught them often, pace of play was still under 4 hours to get round in. They were polite and even asked if we wanted to play through. I hope they all make the team.
If you are new to the area this facility is the best Daytona has to offer. I highly recommend playing here.
Great course but Construction ruins the experience
This course is in great shape and the greens were near perfect and quick. There is major land clearing going on the entire front 9 which ruins the beauty of the course and they were burning giant piles of trees and brush and it was almost a health concern breathing in the thick smoke on many of the holes.
1st timer
Best course I’ve ever played. Fairways and greens were in excellent condition.
Worse round ever
The LPGA is my favorite 2 courses and I play these often. However on Saturday had a bad expiernce with a 4 some ...They were holding up 4 groups on the back nine on the Hills course . They were the slowest group I have ever experience in 30 years of playing golf. When we asked if we could play thru since we were just a 2 some ...they told us to F off.
Worth the drive
If you like small geeens, thick rough, deep bunkers and a tough test- this is the course for you. It is much tougher than the Jones course. It is playable but tough. Miss the fairway and the rough is penal, short side your approach and the green slopes will leave you a 30 footer for par.
This course is one of the best marked in Florida, the tees have the distance to hazards and bunkers clearly labeled.
The restaurant has excellent food and drinks
The practice area is one of the best in the state.
The only thins that could be improved are the carts- no gps and they need to be updated and the removal the native areas. It’s sad to see the native areas being cleared for additional home construction. I get the need to make money off the raw land, but it does take away from the course for those who remember what is was like just a year ago.
Regardless- if you like a great test and a nice lunch- this is the place to go.
Bad timing
Rained the day before. Cart path only but place was saturated. Quit after 9 holes. Should have had the Hills course closed that day. I see now why there was only 2 other groups out there. Hope to go back next year with better condition.
Hot fun in the summer time
The Hills course is a great test of your golf game. Small fast greens, great fairways and the best practice area around. The Arthur Hills course is fun, challenging and visually interesting. He will test your short game with a variety of required chips to these small greens. The back 9 is beautiful and the last 3 holes are big boy tough. Warm that driver up if you're playing Blue tees or tips, yikes!
My favorite course in the area
10/10 place
Course was immaculate, greens were quick but fair. Staff was awesome, beers/food was great too. Love this place
