Bonaventure Golf Club

About
Bonaventure Golf Club (formerly known as Bonaventure Country Club) is a classic Florida layout with holes routed through strands of mature palms and hardwoods, and around numerous water hazards and expansive bunkers. This course, designed by Joe Lee, is also called the Green Monster. Some people call it the Cascade Course because of the waterfall on the picturesque 160-yard, par-3 third. This signature hole has a waterfall that stretches across the front of the green.

Pace of play 3hrs for front 9
Fairways had no grass, greens ok but the fringes were in bad shape.
Some groups had 5 golfers
Slow day
I play here at least twice every month but this week the pace was extremely slow. The ranger was visible but did nothing to try and ask the groups to move a little faster
What Have You Done Lately?
You spent millions of dollars to make the course playable a while back. Now, the course is deteriorating in every area. Some fairways are just bare-bones, and spotty weeds are popping up on every green. Given the price you're charging, many better courses nearby with more reasonable green fees. How can you keep up the competition with the current course conditions and price? Do not let this great course go downhill again!
Over rated
J’avais hâte de jouer ce terrain. Je suis déçue de la qualité des tee off et des fairways. Seuls les verts étaient de bonne qualité.
Great Course
This is one of the hidden gems is South Fl. The Par 3 on hole 3 is a beautiful waterfall. It is a bit challenging to get it over the waterfall but when you do it's a great feeling. The course has water on every hole which makes it easy to lose balls. Other than that, this is an amazing course. Some fairways could use some love but all in all this is well worth the money.
Bouncing back
Nice to see some effort to bring this longtime course back to life. The greens were fantastic! Fairways and other areas need a bit of work but there was also some heavy weather a few days before my round. I have avoided Bonaventure for a while because of it's condition, but I will return. Good to see a comeback in the making
A beautiful course and settings
A gorgeous course well maintained in a beautifully designed landscape . If you wish to enjoy a peaceful afternoon on a great golf course , it is the place !
Satff is pro and competent . Nothing wrong to mention , just great 👍
very solid, challenging course. Bunkers were immaculate, rest of the course was in decent shape. One tough hole after another. Good hot deal values in an expensive area.
No grass on the fairways.
If you like playing from tight lies, this is the course for you. Even the rough wasn’t rough. The greens were in pretty good shape, but the fairways need a lot of help.
Lots of water still fun
Really enjoyed this course, playing again while we are here. Lots of water but enjoyed the layout. Lots of wildlife. The bar was very nice for after round drink. Menu looked good. Definitely recommend this course. Nice greens and sand traps, really enjoyed it.
Excellent layout challenging and makes you play
Played this course several tines this season. Greens are very good with enuff speed and undulations to make it challenging. Fairways are getting burned out due to the amount of heat and lack of rain this season.bunkers in great shape. Plenty of water and dogleg. Pace of.play was real good today due to thw lack of Golfer today otherwise it would be the usual 4.5 hrs.
Pleasent folks in pro shop. Range is a water range with mats. Could use some new rubber tee stems or replace mats with higher quality that u can use yur own tees.
Great value for money
What happened? They were getting so close to fixing it.
I played a month ago and the course has led definitely improved to the best it has been in many many years. I came back yesterday to play and couldn’t believe how the course had deteriorated (with the exception of the Greens). All I could think of was either the Head Greenskeeper left or ownership pulled the plug on funding maintenance. Weeds everywhere, sprinkler pipes broken leaking water next to greens on 6 and 13.
I will have to find another place to play as I was excited with the improvements, since I live 5 minutes away. Luckily Pembroke Lakes is fairly close and is always in good shape, as is Jacaranda.
Super sad to see the progress they made on the course fall apart so quickly.
Hoping ownership steps up and spends some money quickly not to lose any more golfers.
