We have played here several times. It is just okay, normally as ownership is changing, maintenance spotty, etc. Unfortunately on this day as I was standing on the third tee, I looked to see the grass sand moving and realized it was really a sea of red fire ants. Too late, they were already swarming all over my shoes, ankles and lower legs !!

I ran back to the cart, ripped off my socks and shoes and rubbed ice on my 30+ ant bites. The stinging pain was intense and my feet started to swell, so we abandoned the round, did a bee line to the car, sped to the nearest drug store for Benedryl, etc and ice packs. We considered a trip to the ER.

We have lived in FL for over 30 years. Bugs are everywhere, but they can be easily controlled. This infestation in inexcusable and, if a person, was allergic would really be a serious problem for all. As it was, I couldn't wear shoes for two days, then the bites turned to itchy red blisters that took over two weeks to resolve.

Scratch (literally) one mediocre golf course off our list.

Great golf course ,good for all types of player (low or high handicaps).I loved the 18 hole with 2 green. All the greens were in good shape . .lots of water holes make you think where to land for your 2nd shot .club house was very clean and the food was good .staff were nice and friendly. will come back and will tell all my friends to play here

Fun and beautiful lay out. The course was in much better condition in just a week . You cannot beat the value! Tommy Fazio Golf course surrender by nature just gorgeous. Staff are very friendly

I had to see it for myself. And after playing this course, the reviews were true. I will start with the good things. The greens were in good shape, and rolled true. The carts were nice, and the ball washers were some of the best I have seen. Other than that, it was a total disappointment. The tees and fairways were patchy with some short grass and some very long grass. I actually lost a ball in the fairway. You can tell that there has not been routine cutting for a while. The sand traps have been neglected for quite some time. The water coolers were hit and miss as to whether they would have water in them or not. On a positive note, the cart guy, and girl in the pro shop were very nice and accommodating. I feel bad for them working at a golf course that used to be nice, but has now been let go. As for the owners of Eagle Marsh, you should be ashamed of yourselves. To actually charge people to play this cow pasture is beyond words. Either take care of this course or shut it down. It is a disgrace to our community.

We played August 26,2019 and the fairways and tees still have not been mowed. Grab grass growing wildly on both. The rough, well forget finding your ball in it. I would not recommend nor return here until reviews expressed a change in maintenance management. The greens however in decent condition, were the highlight of layout. The staff was pleasant and courteous. The obviously spent a lot of money on new on course amenities, such as trash receptacles, ball washers, hole signs, and bronze tee box markers. But now it’s time to spend some money on course maintenance.

The fairways were terrible and overgrown. Absolutely no care has been put into this course over the last few months.

Sad to see this great course in this condition. Hit a ball in the fairway and have to look for it in the weeds and crabgrass that hasn't been mowed in weeks. I know it's wet but fairways are the ruff and the ruff is pull out another ball. I hope they can get it fixed it was a great course.

Don't know what's going but not what I remembered. greens are Ok but the rest is horrible. When you hit a ball in the fairway and then have to try and fined it in the grass and weeds?

Around May 1st there was either a change in ownership or management or both and since that time there has been a significant decline in the maintenance and upkeep of the property. The rough has not been mowed in many, many weeks (quite possibly months) and it appears now that they have quit mowing the fairways as well. Although ice is provided via an ice chest, the ice machine has not been replaced in the two and a half months. Little things like no lids for the cups, tee boxes deteriorating and sand traps not attended in weeks show either dire financial problems or total lack of management or a combination of both. Whatever the situation they have managed to take a very good Tom Fazio course design and turn it into a below average run-of-the mill golf course. What a shame.

This is a great layout. lots of options off the tees, and and interesting 18th hole with two greens, one straight ahead and one over the marsh/ forced carry. I also rate the staff and pro shop people highly, always friendly and prompt. However, the course has tragically gone down hill. It hasn't been great in long time, financial difficulties are in evidence, and it shows. the fairways are really bad, the rough is horrible, uneven patchy, lank and full of muck. last time I played it was th worst I've seen it. Most disconcerting is that hordes of red fire ants seem have to taken over management of the course, and not in easily discernable mounds but just everywhere. I was surprise bitten at least 8 times, on the tee boxes, while lining up chips and in the middle of the fairway. This course must be a nightmare to maintain built in the middle of the Savannahs swamp, and with obvious no budget The greens were really bumpy and slow, and the bunkers bare and/or gravel filled.

The layout is great. You better hit it straight or bring plenty of balls. Greens were in good shape and fast by my standards. Tees were ok as were the fairways. The rough would have made the US Open proud. It has not been mowed in many, many days, There is currently no snack bar only packaged good in the pro shop.

I'll go back next week to see if conditions have improved.

It’s not as good as it used to be. It’s gone down hill now a days. Greens are not in great shape and the fair ways could use to help.

Decent course for a great staff. Kitchen wasn’t up and running but the lady behind bar was very friendly and accommodating.

The course has changed management and is offering a wonderful bargain to play on this very challenging course. The carts are gas, there is no gps and there are no wc open on the course yet. The clubhouse is open for snacks, lunch, beer and wine and refreshments. The greens are very nice to play on and fairways well groomed. If you hit straight no problem!! As you tour the course there are nice ponds and birds and there are breaks from the heat. Very enjoyable playing without any delay.
