Eagle marsh
Very nice wide open went out around 10:00 fairways could use maintenance but very challenging would try again if in area
Worst 4 Star Course - Maybe 2.5 at best
Sand patches on 10 of 18 greens. Weeds in fairway. But with voucher got it for $2.00. Layout was very good. But such poor shape. Owners must have quit. So must have greenskeeper.....
disappointed
I am a past member at EM and have been playing here off & on for the past eight yrs. The course has always been sensitive to weather conditions (wet/dry/etc.). In this case the course's conditions seem to be suffering from management issues, not nature. I rated the course fair and I think that was on the generous side.
Also they've changed carts (vendor ?) and there is no GPS available, an issue I have with Golf Now--PRODUCT NOT AS ADVERTISED I expect compensation.
Good value with lunch included
Got the lunch included time on golf now. 3$ more added to the price and got a really good lunch out of the deal. Course is good as always. Tough layout but doable for all levels with different tees. Only problem is the eaten up areas on the greens due to the large numbers of sand hill cranes that like to hang around the course. Nothing the greens keepers can really do about the birds digging up the greens but it’s slightly troublesome. Otherwise greens roll well. Fairways nice. Bunkers nice and soft. Can’t beat the place for the price and the staff is always friendly. Especially Cart guys and bartender.
Very nice course. Starter anf other staff were very friendly.
Disappointing
Of the four courses that my wife and I play regularly Eagle Marsh happens to be our favorite, but today was an exception as the greens had been recently aerated and were covered in a coat of sand. The disappointing factor was there wasn't any notice that this was happening and we didn't find out until we commenced play. I strongly believe that notice of this maintenance should have been posted to alert customers of the conditions.
Challenging
Loved the layout. Needs mowed badly! Couldn’t tell fairway from rough. Greens fast and challenging. I’ll play again if they mow the thing!
Ball placement
The tee boxes and fairways were in good condition with some weed patches. There are a few holes that you have to play to spots as the greens are not visable. Challenging course especially when windy. Greens were in good shape. Overall good course that allows you to work on all aspects of your game. I will go back again.
Nice course and staff
We have played Eagle Marsh a few times a year for the past three years. It has a great layout and design. We were disappointed with the general condition of the course, It seems that the quality of maintenance on the course has gone down hill in a big way. The staff in the pro shop, starter and snack bar were great.I hope the maintenance level can return to what it once was and the course returned to wonderful challenge it can be.
No bad a little rough
T boxs are chopped up , stays wet , very hilly and thin ..after all it is the marsh not a track I’d play every week
Classic rustic course
I loved it because it feels like you are in the true wilderness. No condos lining the fairways
Great course
Course is awesome but it is a ball eater for a hack like me. I'll be back.
We Love the Course
My wife and I have played here many times and enjoy the variety of golf holes. It isn't the easiest of courses around but nevertheless we enjoy the challenges. One thing I would change is move the ladies tees forward. I play from the seniors tees and on many of the holes the ladies is just 10 or 12 yards shorter, just a bit too long.
Great Staff, Fun Layout, Good shape
Clubhouse staff and Starter we very nice. Offered me (single) a chance to get out before four groups. I think the layout has a nice varieties and looks on the holes. Local knowledge definitely helps on some holes. Greens held nicely and rolled fine - didn’t see any dead areas.
Challenging Layout!
Great but challenging design. Need to play this with someone who knows the layout, or get familiar with it the first go around. Would be great to have some visuals at each hole near the tee box.
Great course a little wet
Eagle Marsh lived up to its name by being wet in many areas due to the daily rains. Over all the course was in nice shape. Pace of play was great (3:25 for 18). Starters and clubhouse were friendly and helpful. A fun course but be sure to hit it straight. I'll be back.
Tests One's Skills
My wife and I play 2-3 times per week at 5 different courses in the Stuart, Palm City, Port Saint Lucie area and this is by far the best of the five. Tom Fazio has mixed some extremely testing golf holes along with more simple and less stressful ones, a beautiful combination. We'll play this course more often in the future.
Just Like a movie mystery that has a surprise ending
First thing: Course is in good shape ,staff friendly & I highly recommend. Having played a lot of courses I sort of forgot about the few quirks that this one throws at you. They don't call it Eagle Marsh for nothing. Lots of marsh land and if you're unlucky enough to find that area you may as well grab another ball. The strange part is the small areas of marsh located from time to time in or very close to the fairways. Tall grass but not as deep or imposing as the ones near the water. You can hit out of them but it's not easy or clean. Be aware and try to avoid, even though some are in blind spots and catch you by surprise. The final surprise though comes on 18 where there are 2 entirely different greens. The card only shows a split distance which, if you're not familiar with the the course, you don't figure out until after your tee shot. After your 1st shot your GPS shows a 200 yd. shot even though the green is in front of you less then 100 yds. away. After a bit of pondering I noticed the second green at a 90 degree right turn, over a large marsh area. Hmmm, now what. Well, since there was no one behind me I ended up playing both for fun. Surprising yes, but I found it a lot of fun. If you spray the ball the course could present some problems but overall a good experience and will be back within a month or two. Enjoy!
