Want a good challenge, this is the course.
Great design with interesting tee shots, rolling slopes and a fair amount of well placed diversion. Even with the hazards there are brides to be had.
worse ever
just all around bad . no leadership conditions are horrible looks like they dont even mow any more . and was harassed by staff for slow play when we were in the last group haha just all around bad
Don't Care!
HEAT STROKE FACTORY! Not enough water jugs! Had no drink cart service that day! NO food/drink at the turn! July in Florida....HAVE SOME WATER AND FOOD FOR YOUR GUESTS! First time...LAST time!
Awesome course, great staff. Very challenging
Was in town visiting family and played with my brother. Arrived and the staff was awesome. Very friendly and had us ready to go. They even had a cart driving around with refreshments.
The course was a lot of fun. It's a pretty challenging course and you really need to be accurate off the tee. If you're game isn't accurate be sure to bring a lot of balls.
That being said, it was a great course and sure was a lot of fun. I'll be coming back for sure.
Rediscovering an old friend
I decided to play Eagle Marsh after reading a recent review in a local golf newspaper, Tee Times. The writer, like me, had played this course after it opened and before homes were built around it. At that time, it was a fun & challenging course to play. In 2014, a new owner came in and has started to renovate the course. I understand the improvements are to be complete by October of 2015. Much still needs to be done: irrigation is spotty; there are several blind shots caused by overgrowth of trees and bushes; bunkers have little or no sand. Present prime time greens fees are too high for the condition of the course. Right now, this is a $25 course not $39 like they are charging. But this basic layout is good and I await the final product after all enhancements are complete.
Great course
A phenomenal course for the money. My personal favorite track on the treasure coase. It is challenging though and you must be on point with tee shots. Had a great crusted fried grouper sandwich in clubhouse aND a $2 stella. Tough to beat.
The Course is beautiful..
Eagle marsh review..Great course, fair, plays any
length you desire..choose your tees..great wildlife,
facilities were great and the staff was pleasant.
nice course
Enjoyed the course , though I need to move up to next tee box. Played blue tees which made course about 6,400 yards. Not terribly long but a few tee shots needed to carry about 200 yds. so if you can't count on 200 every time you will have trouble. Only draw back was the greens had just been aerated a few days before.
Nice course
Played here last year and before that. It was dry and desert like.
Thought we would try again and improvement was remarkable. Greens in great shape and course lush and green. Enjoyed and will come back more often.
Nice course.
I heard that the course had a new owner since last year and that he was injecting money into it. It should be even better next year.
Great day overall.
Bring extra balls
This course is radically different when you play it from the blues or golds compared to the whites
Much improved
I played back in October and there were a lot of blind tee shots because of overgrown wetlands and the greens were a little thin. The wetlands have been cut down and that makes it dramatically better. The greens were also in much better shape though not very fast. Pretty weedy but whatever. 4 stars is probably generous but it is much improved and I got a hot deal for 20 bucks at 1130 on a Saturday which is tough to beat. I wouldn't pay more than that though especially during the summer.
Great golf!!!
This course is beautiful and the set up is challenging. My son and I play here every year on our family vacation. Worth every penny. New owners are investing in improvements.
A real shame
Having played Eagle Marsh in 2014, I was shocked by the condition the course is now in... 16 out of 18 greens had fungal damage, none of the green had seen a mower in awhile, the tee boxes were overgrown, the majortiy of sand traps were full of water, and those that were dry had not been raked in ages... Obviously something is going on with this Fazio designed course, a sale pending? Or just terrible management.
Either way I would not recommend Eagle Marsh to anyone and will not play it again myself. GolfNow should have this course re-evaluated...
A real shame...
The greens have not been maintained
The greens have deteriorated severely since the last time I played (February). Putts do not hold there line due lack of maintenance. I understand the course was recently sold, hopefully the new owner(s) will correct this issue along with tree an srub cutting and sand trap repair
Going downhill fast
Played here for the first time after deciding to see for myself re: all the comments on the condition. Guess what, you were all correct. Weeds growing in the bunkers, "sand" (term used loosely) was piled in corners or non-existent, some tee boxes hadn't seen grass since Lincoln was president, fairways overrun with weeds, greens patchy and slow - you get the idea.
It is quite the shame, really, as the course is a Fazio design and is really nicely routed, although there is long cart drive between some holes, and is not walkable. In its day it must have been quite the looker, but until someone makes an effort to fix it up it will most probably continue to go downhill. I'd look for other places to play.
(I should have known what I was in for when I checked the divot mix box on the cart and found a banana peel and an empty box of Marlboro Lights in there).
Poor fairway conditions
Friendly staff and an average layout however the conditions were poor. So many clumps of weeds peppered the fairways that I had to play preferred lie even when hitting down the middle. I played several courses in Florida while on vacation and this one was the least enjoyable.
fun course
Some of the greens had bare spots not overall condition 7 of 10. The layout is the best part of this course. You'll need a round or two to figure it out.
Expecting more
Course not in good condition but for $50+ not a bad value.
I had a great day of golf. Weather was outstanding. Pairings ideal. The course was a challenge. Wildlife beautiful. Had an afternoon of good golf.
Wonderful time. Signed in as a single. The Starter paired me up with another male single and a couple who were members and I had a great round of Golf. The wildlife is all around the course and wonderful to see. The course plays tough but a challenge. I am going to play again with my houseguests. Great time. Well worth the money.
Not sure how you couldn't find food and drinks at the turn considering you drove your cart by the large white clubhouse to reach the 10th tee. The clubhouse has full service menu.
