challenging is an understatement
on the front of their scorecard says" the most challenging course on the treasure coast" they are correct. the most I've played so far, we played from the blue's which were one set in front of tips which made for a lot of tough and blind tee shots. some tees you had to get ball up quick or end up in marsh. have been shooting mid 80's consistently over the last month on several different other local courses ended with 95 here will definitely be back I want a rematch. also we were dodging rain for half a round.
Straight ball
Better be able to hit a straight drive to be able to keep your ball in play. There are hazards on every part of every hole
Beautiful marsh lands
The course is designed and intertwined with marshland. The course overall is in good shape. Not a course for a beginner player
nice change
this is a nice course but i lost a few strokes not knowing it very well. some tees were a little bare but overall was good the greens were nice had a few problem spots . i will come back
Difficult Course in Great Shape
I enjoy playing here and the course is in great shape except for some bunkers (a given with the rains of late). This is NOT a course for a beginner or anyone without ball control. However, they keep it in great condition and everyone is friendly.
Good value
Played for 13 bucks. Can't beat it. For the money and location. Works for me
Surprisingly quiet for a nice course
The layout is excellent & aside from some spots on some greens the course was in good shape. Don't understand negative reviews but to each his own. We had a nice time & a very fast round for a Sunday morning. You won't be sorrow if you get this course at a great value.. Beware, it lives up to it's name so expect a few lost balls
just great !
yes, from start to finish ! Lost a lot of balls though ! but very friendly welcoming staff and good condition course !
challenging course
Course was challenging. enjoyed the layout. the tees are in excellent shape fairways kept up well the putting surfaces were in good condition. the staff was very friendly would recommend this course to others 3d
great course
This course is not for beginners I love to play there the greens were very hard but other then that it was a great day
Nice course
Although there are houses on the course, there is a lot of wildlife around the course. I will play here again but the beverage shack after 9 was closed and water on the course is very scarce. There were very few people playing as it was hot and muggy but we are in Florida and this is marsh country!
Great course for the money
My father and I got a great deal! 11:00am tee time for $23.00 per person. We actually teed off at 10:40am and didn't run into anyone until the 12th hole. The course was in the best condition of the year. Greens were surprisingly fast and fairways freshly mown. I wish the driving range was better taken care of but Martin Downs did just reacquire the range back so I understand. I'll be back at that price!
condition bad
the staff was great the condition of the course was terrible to say the least the greens and fairways for this time of the year are poorly maintained
Difficult due to wind and aeration
I'm not thrilled because they recently aerated the greens and didn't mention that when we booked the tee time.
The course it'self if challenging which also explains why the course isn't in good condition: no one wants to play here.
need to play a few times
Nice course. Has to be played a few times to sort out all the trouble, good
drives going through the fairways, trouble you can't see around the greens ect.
First timers bring lots of balls.
Disappointed
Course condition muni quality. not as described.
tied off behind behind USGA course evaporators. not warned by pro shop or starter.
several holes sprinkler on @ 2pm
would not recommend
Money, Money, Money
The course, designed by Tom Fazio, has a great layout that meanders through the wilds of marsh land. I guess that is why they call it Eagle Marsh. Didn't however spot any eagles nor did I make any. If it's your first time playing this course, it's a good idea to pair up with someone who is familiar with it. What is interesting is the 18th hole. It has two greens. If you are playing off the white, green or red tees, you go for the closer green (307 yds.) . If off the Gold or Blue tees, you go for the furthest green that is a dogleg to the right over scrub (410 yds.). The back nine is somewhat more challenging since you have carries over "stuff" and frequently, you will have to carry over more "stuff" for your approach shots. I would love to play it again! BTW, the course lacks money.......if it had the funds, it would be a gem.
Eagle March Disappointment
Before I booked the round I visited the Eagle Marsh website and was amazed, this is a Tom DeFazio designed course, it's one time membership fee is $25K or annual fee of $3,800. The pictures were beautiful. What we found was a tired course. There is no GPS in the carts and no graphic of the hole at the tees. The only restroom on the course was after the 9th hole. The sand traps had been raked but were muddy and some had standing water. This was unusual because it hasn't rained in almost 2 weeks and we are in the midst of a heat wave in southeast Florida. Having never played the course before, from some tees you couldn't see a landing area, on another, the 18th we saw a sign saying play to the marker in the fairway, we didn't see one, but in all fairness, we stopped after the 13th hole as the pace of play was beyond slow with no rangers on the course. The greens were consistently fast. The clubhouse is accessible only after the 10th hole, and we couldn't get food because the server said the kitchen was backed up. There were maybe 10 patrons in the restaurant. Very disappointing in every aspect.
What a challenge
Great course. Very very challenging. Love the fairways. The greens need some work but the course is worth it. Bring a couple extra balls!!!
